When September rolls round, you know it’s that time when Buskers hit the streets in Sentosa for the annual Sentosa Buskers Festival!
During our recent holidays to London and Sydney, we had the opportunity to watch buskers in action, and we were mostly awed by the high standard of some of of these acts. There isn’t a culture for such street acts locally, which is why it is a real treat to be able to catch the interesting acts at the Sentosa Buskers Festival. There are various acts scattered around Beach Station and towards the Siloso beach area so you’re bound to come across something interesting just walking around! Or you might want to check out the festival map and schedule to make sure you don’t miss any acts!

Titan the Robot had Noey really fascinated (and Meips really terrified)! I mean, a talking, dancing life-sized robot? Totally a boy’s dream come true! As a plus, he was funny too.

One of the highlights for all of us was definitely the interactive station, where we got a chance to try some stunts ourselves. Clearly DD and I couldn’t resist the opportunity to try too! And whhadya know, spinning plates on a stick isn’t that easy after all! I don’t think I have much of a future as a busker, alas!

We hung around checking out some of the human statues and marvelling at how they could be dressed in suits in our weather! After a magic show and an acrobatic act, we had to leave, much to the children’s disappointment. It was a fun way to spend an afternoon. Thanks for hosting us, Sentosa!
The Sentosa Buskers Festival is on from 7 to 15 September 2013 in Sentosa, stretching from Merlion Plaza to Siloso Beach. Entry to the festival is free though the usual entry charges to Sentosa apply. Tomorrow’s the last day, so don’t miss it!
