I think aside from the lovely surroundings, one of the things I love about the Capella is the fact that you get a lot of extra amenities thrown in. I know it's already been factored into the (rather high) room rate, but still, it's nice that all the drinks in the minibar (coke, sparkling water, bottled water and orange juice) are free and replenished daily, there is free wifi, free local telephone calls, and free Nespresso coffee and Gryphon Tea in the room. When you go to the pool, they bring ... read more

Capella: Nuah-ing
We spent 3 days on a staycation at the beautiful Capella to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. We thought of trying out the Resorts World Hotels, in particular the Hard Rock Hotel because we heard that the pool was kid-friendly with its own "beach", but decided against it when we realised that the lobby is currently being renovated. So it was back to the Capella for us, and after our previous wonderful stay, I was really looking forward to it.I'm glad that it was as amazing as I remembered ... read more
If only it could be Capella everyday…
For my birthday treat this year, the husband checked us into the Capella for 2 nights. We couldn't squeeze in a real holiday so we decided to splash out on a local stay, satisfy my desire to stay somewhere new, and give DD the post-reservist treat he deserved.(On top of 2 weeks of intense training, the poor man virtually didn't sleep for 2 nights and was out in the field for 36 hours so I think he earned it.)It was ridiculously expensive but oh-so-luxurious. Quite possibly the nicest room we've ... read more
8 Reasons Why We Love The Rasa Sentosa Staycation!
The March Holidays always feel too short for a real travel-overseas-holiday, so this year, we decided that a staycation was the way to go! Sentosa is always my first choice for such breaks because I get to feel like I’ve left Singapore though we’ve really just driven off the mainland! Capella would have been my top choice but we decided we probably ought to opt for a more purse-friendly option. I tried to book a package with RWS but somehow RWS and I seem to have no 缘分 — every time I’ve tried ... read more
2010: Year In Review
I was at a lost over how to recap on the year when I came across this list and thought it would be a good place to start!1. Where did you ring in 2010?I actually can't remember, which means I was, in all likelihood, at home with both DD and Noey asleep in bed and me tap-tap-tapping my year-end round-up on my laptop. Hmmm, sounds like what I did this year, except that DD was awake! I really should plan something more exciting next year.2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you ... read more
Beach Boy: Rehabilitated
It seemed wrong to be on Sentosa and not hit the beach at least once. So on the morning we due to check out of Capella, we took a walk down to catch some sun and surf.It wasn't without some trepidation that we headed down. Afterall, the last time we were on the same beach, Noey had refused to step on the sand. But he was very keen on going this time round, repeatedly showing me his spade and going "dig!" very earnestly when I mentioned hitting the beach. As it turned out, somewhere in the last ... read more
