The highlight of our visit to Legoland Malaysia in February was surely the Legoland Water Park. I had heard great reviews from friends but had not previously managed to visit, so the kids and I were most excited!
The Legoland Water Park is very conveniently located just steps from the lower ground floor exit (LG2) of the Legoland Hotel. A hop, skip and a jump and we were there!
Welcome to the Legoland Water Park!
We were not disappointed. The Legoland Water Park at Legoland Malaysia is the largest in the world, featuring over 20 rides and more than 70 Lego models. There was certainly plenty to keep us entertained! I am usually wary about bringing my kids to water parks because they being quite young, have yet to meet the height limits for many rides, but I was quite pleased to find that at the Legoland Water Park, there was quite a bit for the whole family, even for the little ones like my then 3-going-on-4-year old Mei.
The first thing you’ll spy on your let upon entering the water area is the awesome-looking Joker Soaker. An interactive water playground with slides and water everywhere! Look out for the 300 gallon bucket that pours down without warning! My kids are not fans of water shooting out at their faces or pouring down from on top, so they gave this a miss. I wasn’t surprised I was a bit disappointed because it looked so fun.

Lower-level slide — min 91cm
Mid and Top-level slide — min 102cm

Instead, my children made a bee-line for the Build-A-Raft River. A lazy river with a difference because, as its name suggests, you get to build a raft from the foam Lego bricks floating around you in the river as you go around! This was quite a hit with my kids, even Mei who was actually a bit small for the float. That problem was easily resolved by Mummy squeezing in the float with her! The blocks didn’t really well on the blue base on the floats, which was a bit of a pity, but they did fit well together and both my kids loved grabbing the floating blocks to build with.
Tip: Do make sure to grab one of the life jackets you will find conveniently near the river entry point for the children. My kids shunned them at first, but finally relented when they realised how much easier it was to float around with one. Noey totally abandoned the raft float in the end and had a great time floating along in his life jacket. It was much easier to grab the floating Lego blocks that way too!

Floating on by… And you don’t always need a float to do so!
Very happy picking up blocks along the way!
Mei’s favourite area was easily the DUPLO Splash Safari, designed with the little kids in mind. Think cute over-sized Duplo animals which spray water, sited in a very shallow pool. There is a short broad slide and the end and plenty more foam blocks to play with. It is a very safe space to splash around in which was perfect for my four-year old. She went on multiple rounds on the mini-slide, then went round spinning the wheels on the animals to turn the water they were spraying on and off. We also embarked on a little building with the foam blocks we found around us.
Getting Mummy’s help to put together a special friend.
Say hello to Jillian! (Named after her classmate!)
While Mei was handing our at the DUPLO Splash Safari, Noey entertained himself at the Imagination Station. Just give the boy something to shoot and he’ll be happy!
Happily blasting away!
IMAGINATION STATION
It took us a while to tear the kids away from the lower deck where all this was, but once they headed up to the upper deck, they realised that that was where the real fun was to be had.
Hello slides! Well, for Noey at least.
The great thing about the Legoland Water Park as opposed to other water parks that we’ve visited is that the minimum height restrictions are fairly low. Standing at about 110cm, Noey actually qualified to take all the rides, Alas, Mei who stands at just over 1m couldn’t qualify for as many. She did at least make it past the 102cm minimum for Red Rush and this was our family’s favourite ride as we could all go down together. The little miss enjoyed this so much that we went down no less than 5 times! The kids kept giggling their heads off as we swooshed around and all the way down the tube slide and they were so cute I found it hard to say no when they shouted “again!” at the end of the ride. I particularly appreciated the fact that you didn’t have to carry the float-boat up to the top for this ride, so re-taking it was a snap.
Here they come!
Big squinty smiles!
RED RUSH
(Kids under 102cm are not permitted on this ride.)
Noey couldn’t resist trying out the slides — goodness knows when he became a bit of an adrenaline junkie — so he and DD spent the better part of the afternoon climbing up and sliding down the various slides together. Noey’s favourite ride was probably the Twin Chasers (min height 102cm) because he got to race Daddy down! DD enjoyed the Brick Blaster (min height 107cm), an enclosed tube ride with some unexpected wide and narrow sections, and extra drops!
In between, we spent quite a bit of our afternoon in the Wave Pool. The kids loved being tossed around by the waves. I would have appreciate more shade though because it could get really hot!
Cooling off in the Wave Pool. It was too bright for photos!
LEGO WAVE POOL
The afternoon passed too quickly and all too soon, it was time to head home. The wise thing to do (which we, erm, did not do) would have been to visit the Legoland Water Park on the first day of our visit when we could easily head back to the Legoland Hotel to shower. The weather wasn’t kind to us on our first day at Legoland so the water park got shifted to the second day on our itinerary. If you are like us, you might be glad to know that the Legoland Hotel readily stores its guests luggage after check-out till you’re ready to leave. We took a small bag with us to the water park and made use to the ample shower facilities to clean up after our visit before heading back to the hotel for our luggage and home to shower (because I’m fussy that way).
It was, all in all a really fab visit and the kids have been asking and asking to return! We certainly hope to come again, maybe before the year ends. Hopefully by then, Mei might have grown a bit and be able to attempt more rides. I know she would love that.
Happy cheeky faces! We love the Legoland Water Park!

We had great fun at Legoland Water Park too but personally, after factoring in the travel time and all, my kids and I prefer going to Adventure Cove in Sentosa.
Mummybean says
Adventure Cove is on my list! Wanted to go this holiday but there was too much to do!
Kless @ The JBabies says
Love the happy shots of the kids! I personally like the water theme park much better than Legoland itself. Hope to go back again soon!
Mummybean says
my kids love the water park better too. i think it’s because it’s so hot, the water seems like a better idea!
Phoebe says
We have not been to the water park yet. being frequent JB goers..Maybe we will go there in the future. ☺

haha, i think you have so many other places to visit in JB on your list!

Wah! There are mega sized Legos in the water!! I really really really can’t wait for the kids to grow older so that we can go LEGOLAND together. They are definitely too young to enjoy every part of the water park. Hahaha and The Swimming Room wetsuit again. Lol
Mummybean says
I think it wouldn’t be long — soon soon! Re the swimsuit, yessss, on Noey, see? when i finally got him out of it, Mei wants to wear hers all the time!
SengkangBabies says
We appreciate the “lower” height limits too.
Life guard will be lenient if kids are two cm short, but make an effort to tip-toe haha!
I can bring my GoPro in too 🙂
(Adventure Cove super-strict )
cheers, andy

You’re right about them not being as strict. I think Mei was a wee bit short for Red Rush but they let her on and I was grateful! I haven’t tried Adventure Cove. Have to go soon!
Angie.S says
The Red Rush is my absolute fav ride of LEGOLAND WaterPark too (and I’m not even a water person!). We’ve always enjoyed this waterpark as the rides are more suitable for kids. A good prelude to the Sentosa’s Adventure Cove though, as the rides at AC are more for teens and adults.
Mummybean says
Yes, I was really pleased that Noey was able to take all the rides at the Legoland Waterpark! We have yet to try Adventure Cove but both kids are a bit older now so I’m hoping they will be able to do enough that’s fun.
Bumble Bee Mum says
I went to Legoland Waterpark 2 years back but the kids were too young to play anything other than the splash park and lazy pool. I should visit again when they are older!
Mummybean says
You should! My kids were 6 and 3+, nearly 4 during this trip and my 6 year old could do everything. So it’s really quite a good park for younger kids.
Jacqualine says
The Legoland Water theme park seems like a blast!!! The Build-A-Raft is definitely gonna be my son’s favourite too, since he plays with his Lego all the time. This would be like… Lego coming to life for him! Gotta make a trip there in the near future!
Mummybean says
My boys (son and husband) are huge Lego fans and they love it! I’m sure your son will too.

I’ve always wanted to visit Legoland but now that they impose the “no re-entry” rule… we are disappointed and changed our plans.
