It was off to the Singapore Art Museum for the Art Garden on Tuesday!
I had been looking forward to this outing with the rest of the Oct Babies. It’s been so long since we last managed to get everybody together. We didn’t manage to catch the Art Garden during last year’s edition (which was very well-received) so I was very interested to see this year’s installations. So was Noey. “Noey can do Art,” he said knowledgeably when I informed him of our destination for the day.
I’m glad that it didn’t disappoint! The installations were very interesting and interactive, and appropriate for young kids.
Part of a workshop to create patterns with plastic toy train tracks that was in the process of being put up when we visited. If we go back, I have half a mind let Noey bring his toy train along to roll along the walls! He was playing with his train set with the exact same train tracks just before we left to come.
Noey: Don’t ask me, I’m just here to play with water!
The boys enjoying the outdoor fountain instead. This is Art too, no?
Part of the “Fruits Market exhibit. You can make a paper fruit (each $1) and keep it for a souvenir or exchange it for a real one. For the record, the “easy” fruits — an orange or a pear — were not that easy at all, as we Mummies found out!
We called it a day and headed for lunch without catching the short films as we missed the session for younger kids.
It was, on the whole, an entertaining morning. Do check it out if you have the time! The event is on till 30 Aug.

We enjoyed the Art Garden very much. Of all fruits, Nat picked BANANA! It was challenging!
