I think somebody inherited his father's love for lego. Or in this case, a love for little lego men. No idea what he finds so funny! But he seems so entertained we can't help but laugh along with him. And DD can tick off another milestone on Noah's growth progress as he can clearly "pay attention to a very small object". (On a sidenote, I'm terribly pleased that I've FINALLY managed to get this video uploaded. Our camcorder creates these .mts files and I was pulling my hair out wondering how ... read more
The Swimming Non-Event
After getting positive reviews from Amanda (and others) who tried out this baby swimming programme, we took Noah down to Plaza Sing last Saturday to let him give it a try. We thought that the warm water would be a better introduction to swimming than the regular pool, and we were pretty excited about it since everyone else's baby seemed to have really enjoyed it. Daddy went armed with the camera and video camera and Noah's Yiyi and boyfriend came as well to witness this event. But guess what? ... read more
Our Friday the 13th Valentine’s
Despite the fact that I'm usually rather nonchalant about Valentine's Day, I just realised that we celebrate it every year, and definitely in the past 3 years! I guess I just like Valentine's Day, cheesy and commercial as it may be. It's just an opportunity (and an excuse) to celebrate, have a good time and enjoy each other's company. This year in particular I really wanted to go out and eat at a restaurant that I hadn't tried before. In my past (non-baby) life, that was one of the things I ... read more
Baby Tea Party
Noah and I had a wonderful Saturday at the Seah's lovely abode. With a table full of food, tea (in pretty teacups), lo hei, plenty of chatter and many babies, what was there not to love? And to think that I considered giving it all a miss when DD was recalled to the office for the whole day leaving me to make the trip to the East all on my own. But I had been looking forward to meeting up with everyone for a while. After all, this gathering was originally scheduled to take place when I was still ... read more
My 4 Month Old Baby
You're 4 months old my baby! Your parents here tried to celebrate this milestone (on 2 Feb) with you by singing you Happy Birthday but we couldn't quite coordinate and only got our pitch and timing right on the 3rd try. A choir, we are not. But I think you didn't mind anyway. This month has simply flown by! With Chinese New Year following so closely after Christmas, it was upon us before we knew it. In the process, you've grown as well, almost imperceptibly for me, though it becomes all too clear ... read more
Our Lo Hei Lunch
For some reason, I didn't get to have yu sheng too much this year. So when Daph asked me out on a Lo Hei lunch date on Tuesday, I was all too happy to oblige. It was tradition after all! With Noah safely in the care of my Mum, we caught up over our a massive plate of yu sheng at Crystal Jade Kitchen in Jurong Point. We ordered a "small" plate but I guess no one does Lo Hei for just 2 people. As the wait staff informed us, we could have the small plate for 2 persons, but "5 persons also can". ... read more
Friends of the Zoo
We took Noey on his first visit to the Zoo last weekend. In truth the visit was more for DD than Noah cos (if you didn't know) this husband of mine loves the zoo, and Noah at 4 months can barely appreciate a zoo visit. DD used to want visit the zoo a fair bit even before Noah was born, so now that we have a kid (and he has a legitimate excuse), he's been raring to go. Sophie is apparently quite a fan of the zoo too so we decided to tag along with Josh & Mich on Saturday. Sophie being obviously ... read more
Wardrobe Reinstatement
Today I got my act together and cleared out all my maternity pants from my wardrobe, and reinstated my old pants. My maternity stuff was getting really loose and besides, I thought I REALLY needed to do something to look less frumpy and also to feel like I was getting on with my life post-baby.Some pairs still require a bit of sucking in to fit, but the important thing is that I could still wear them. Hooray! What can I say? Breastfeeding rocks. But you know what? I actually miss my zipless, ... read more
Dress Me Up
My new clothes have arrived! And I still get to wear them for what's remaining of Chinese New Year. Yay! My first attempt using the Globeshopper service and think it's much better than vpost. My packages took less than a week to arrive and they held my stuff for quite a period before slowpoke me got around to buying more stuff to consolidate into a shipment.Guess that's more incentive for me to go shopping around online! The exchange rate for the Pound is looking particularly attractive these ... read more
Noah & CNY
Getting through the Chinese New Year festivities with a baby in tow was infinitely more complicated, yet at the same time, it wasa lot more fun for us, bringing little Noey through our traditional Chinese New Year routine.Noah got to 拜年...Giving (or was it receiving?) the mandarin oranges to the gramps...get involved with the Lo HeiNoah with his chopstick at the ready!Everyone else starting off the Lo Hei... and of course, collect lots of ang pows from adoring relatives. What's this I've got ... read more
