We welcomed in 2009 in the hushed dimmed confines of our hall, just DD, Noey and I. He was fussing a bit and we were trying to get him to sleep. So we did a quiet countdown, gave each other a kiss and one for baby, sang a whispered auld lang syne and that was that. That has to count as the smallest and simplest celebration of the new year that we've ever had! But it wasn't a measure of the year gone by, for 2008 was a really good year for us and will always be marked by Noey's birth. We'd spent ... read more
Snippity Snip
The thing about your baby having a lot of hair is that it gets long really quickly. The little man was getting shaggy. And since both his parents were too chicken to take up the razor to his still rather nice hair, we decided to cart him off to a salon and have them do the deed.It was not a moment too soon I guess cos that very afternoon when we were out shopping (and before his haircut), an auntie carrying her toddler asked her daughter to say hello to "Mei Mei". Hmmm. We opted for Junior ... read more
New Toy… for Mummy!
A new gadget for Christmas from the husband, that I love love love! (Both the husband and the new toy. You knew that right?)My old lappy was starting to give me the blue screen of death more frequently so I decided it was time to get a replacement and do a quick transfer of my data before it died on me completely. I told DD to help me look for a replacement and the dear man obviously knows his wife cos when he came to discuss his shortlist with me, the first feature he highlighted was the ... read more

Real Clothes, Real Love
My Mum and I have had our differences, as I suspect most mothers and daughters do at some stage of our lives. But having a baby has made me view both my Mum and Dad in a new light and treasure them more for what they do for me. They have been absolutely amazing support for me since Noah was born -- they babysit so that I can get a bit of a breather out of the house, do marketing for me for fresh fish and other stuff I can't readily get at the supermarket, and have stocked up their house with so ... read more
We Like Visitors
Auntie Jud, Rae and Jon are in town and they popped over for visit on Wednesday to get acquainted with the little guy. And this baby of mine really knew how to turn on the charm. Where he would fuss and fret if I were to carry him in a cradle position or sit him on my lap for too long, he willingly them carry him thus and threw in the smiles for good measure.Noah with Uncle Jon, looking absolutely tiny next to him! They caught him in a good mood, though he did start to fuss and need a feed ... read more
Bumbo-ing
Since Noah's head control is fairly good, I thought I'd give him a spin in the Bumbo just to see how he'd like it. "What is this?"Giving it a good wriggle"Hey, look at me, sitting up on my own!""As long as I can still munch on my nappy, I'm fine."Don't think he's quite ready for it yet but probably soon enough. As with every milestone, I look forward to him reaching that stage and at the same time, I hope he doesn't grow up too quickly. The eternal dilemma of a parent! ... read more
Saturdays are Fun
Saturdays are fun days. First I get to wear more interesting clothes and my cool shoe socks...... and I get to go out! The fact that I have to sit in my stroller is a small price to pay. Anyway, there are plenty of things to see so I don't mind too much, as long as my Daddy and Mummy stay within view. This Saturday, we went to check out Vivo City as Mummy wanted to get some Christmas shopping done. We went to Gap, where as usual my parents got distracted by stuff for me. Daddy really liked this ... read more
Jabby Jab
I feel kind of sorry for babies in that they mark each month with vaccinations in the early years of their lives. We brought Noah in on Wed evening for his 2 month checkup. We were really looking forward to it cos we'd been waiting to get him weighed and measured up. Since we've been hefting him around, we'd been dying to find out how heavy he is. Well, it turns out that he's heavier than we thought. At 2 months (and about 9.5 weeks) he's 6.375kg. Oof. He's already almost doubled his birth ... read more
Baby Goes Wedding Again
So we brought Noah for another wedding. Yes, even after our last experience wore both him and us out. We were apprehensive, but this was DD's cousin Weng's wedding and we weren't really given the option not to bring him so the 3 of us just had to survive!Fortunately this time neither of us had any duties so we could concentrate on the parenting. And, after the last experience where Noey was really too cold, we dressed him much warmer this time, in a long sleeved shirt and overalls with a onesie ... read more
