So I was going to update my earlier post to say that my little F1 adventure came to a good ending - the folks at the booking hotline got back to me and I finally managed to finish my transaction. The seats weren't in the block I really wanted (which had unfortunately sold out) but the ones I got were pretty good so I thought that was the happy end to this matter. Then there was that little fiasco of me appearing on the front page of the papers today, dressed in my company windbreaker, no less.I ... read more
Our Phuket CNY
So Phuket was great. And unlike most of our usual holidays, we didn't pack it with too many activities so we were able to get a fair bit of rest, which was just what the both of us, esp DD, needed. This trip was also a little different in that it wasn't just the 2 of us, but a family holiday as we brought DD's Mum along for the ride as well. Admittedly this was part of the plan to ensure that she would not be seriously upset with the fact that we would be missing CNY! It took quite a bit of ... read more
Anniversary Sanctuary
I think all this time that I've not been updating, the person who has missed my blog the most is my husband. Which is pretty funny since he's with me all the time! That hasn't stopped him from clicking on to this blog and looking at me reproachfully while complaining that it's "still the same post!".So it's probably apt that I mark the revival of this blog with a post on a significant event for us.This weekend we celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary. Being the last minute folk that we are, by ... read more
Remembering the Rockies
Ever since he got a new lappie a week ago, DD's been really hooked to it. Which leaves me in the unusual position of having a lot of time with mine :) I haven't been blogging much, because I have been messing about with some old pics. Yabbering away with my bro recently on his holiday in the Rockies reminded me so much of my trip that I went to dig out some of the pics from that trip to reminisce. I'd visited Banff and Jasper and their surrounds as part of an extension of a company trip. ... read more
Goodbye to the Old Dame
They brought down the curtains on the National Stadium on Saturday. And like the many folks whose stories have been run in the press, I too have my own attachment to the place. There were the NDPs attended, the many Malaysia Cup matches watched and witnessed. But most of all, it is to the track that my memories are tied. Back when it took more than a dash across the road to make me start to huff and puff, the Track & Field Nationals held at the National Stadium was the highlight of our ... read more

Birthday Minibreak
Despite his busy schedule this week, the husband sprung a surprise beyond my usual surprise birthday party - we're going to be staying at the Beaufort on Sentosa for the next 2 days!Yay! I was hoping to go on a short trip, but didn't get round to making any serious plans. This is an unexpected bonus. It's only Sentosa but I'm pretty excited. Hokay, back to packin'.Have a good break everyone! ... read more
TK Review
We flew Turkish Airlines during our recent holiday after failing redeem SQ tix as planned - time running out on our accumulated miles! :/Turkish Airlines proved to be a decent ride with personal inflight entertainment screens (hurray!) which were larger than the usual SQ ones and were touch screen, which was pretty convenient. There was a decent number of movies to choose from, though maybe less than the number offered on SQ. The one minus was that there was less leg room so for prolonged ... read more
Turkish Delight
On our recent trip, we were forced to make a short stopover in Istanbul on our return leg. And with an 8-hour layover, we decided to take the opportunity to get out of the airport and take in some of the sights. We were not sure what to expect. But since any mention of Istanbul only brings to mind fond memories of a night back in 2005 for the husband (though I was really more fascinated with the fact that we would be visiting the cradle of civilization), we were rather looking forward to it.Prior ... read more
A Sneak Peek
Sorrento. Capri. Mt Vesuvius. Naples. Amalfi. Pompeii. Atrani. Positano. Rome. Trust me, we did WAY TOO MUCH walking! But we just couldn't pass up on seeing these... And not forgetting the food...and GELATO!I tried to pick just one pic from each of the places we visited thinking that it would allow me to post at least some pics first but that was WAY HARD cos the places were all so beautiful, especially Capri, and the chuches of Naples, and Positano... Argh. So here's just a handful before we ... read more
