The highlight of our visit to Legoland Malaysia in February was surely the Legoland Water Park. I had heard great reviews from friends but had not previously managed to visit, so the kids and I were most excited! The Legoland Water Park is very conveniently located just steps from the lower ground floor exit (LG2) of the Legoland Hotel. A hop, skip and a jump and we were there! Welcome to the Legoland Water Park! We were not disappointed. The Legoland Water Park at Legoland Malaysia is the ... read more
Picotin Express at Bukit Timah
It’s always such a delight to stumble upon a lovely, uncrowded, green space in this busy city of ours. Better yet when the food is good! When our friends suggested Picotin Express at Bukit Timah for a casual Friday evening dinner, I confess that I didn’t have any idea what they were referring to. Feeling confused, I first drove to Picotin’s old location along Turf Club Road even though I was pretty sure it wasn’t there any more. I eventually realised that it was now located along Fairways ... read more
AXA@POST: Insurance Solutions At Your Doorstep
Of the places that I’ve started to frequent since becoming a stay-at-home-mum, the one that I didn’t expect was the post office. But I guess that’s because the post office has become so much more than just a place where you buy stamps and send letters. Most of the time I’m at the post office to pick up the odd registered post article that I wasn’t home to collect and to send out parcels both of my own and also for my husband. Let’s just say that we’ve gotten into the habit of buying and selling ... read more
The Three Billy Goats Gruff: Tripp-Trapping Tip-Tapping Fun
If there’s one thing Mei loves more than princess stories, it is fairytales. Both my children do, actually. They have grown up with fairy tales as staples in our book collection, from simple touch & feel editions for the littlest ones to longer ladybird classics for children. We are still waiting for them to be old enough for the darker, original versions. The ladybird classics are Mei’s favourite and every day she would grab one (usually more than one, actually) of these books, shove it ... read more
Fairytales Come Alive With Tulipmania
Tulipmania is one of my favourite floral displays at Gardens by the Bay. Well, it’s back again for the third year and I couldn’t resist going down to check it out. Mei’s ears pricked up when she heard that the display this year would have a fairytale theme and so she willingly joined me while the boys chose to hang out playing with Lego on a Saturday afternoon a couple of weeks back. We were not disappointed. The flowers were absolutely stunning and the setup was definitely something that Mei ... read more
Going with Stacey to the Peranakan Museum {Giveaway}
When exploring places of interest, whether locally or overseas on holiday, I tend to gravitate towards museums. The husband prefers zoos and anything where animals are involved but me, not so much. Perhaps that’s why natural history museums always such hits for the whole family! Anyway, I disgress. As a parent, I’ve transferred that love for museums to my kids by bringing to kids to museums regularly, both in Singapore and whenever we travel to other countries. They actually suggest ... read more
8 Reasons Why We Love The Rasa Sentosa Staycation!
The March Holidays always feel too short for a real travel-overseas-holiday, so this year, we decided that a staycation was the way to go! Sentosa is always my first choice for such breaks because I get to feel like I’ve left Singapore though we’ve really just driven off the mainland! Capella would have been my top choice but we decided we probably ought to opt for a more purse-friendly option. I tried to book a package with RWS but somehow RWS and I seem to have no 缘分 — every time I’ve tried ... read more
Day In A Life: This Is My Thursday
Since Noey started Primary 1 this year, there have been quite a few changes in our routine, not in the least the fact that I now have to wake up at 6am! It’s been a while since I last wrote about our routine. Back then I only had one kindy-going child, whereas I now have one child attending primary school and one in kindy. How has my life changed? Well, I’m clearly more of a driver than ever! It’s Thursday today, and this is how it might go: 6AM: My alarm goes off. I reach over to stop ... read more
Singapore Heritage Playgrounds: Clock Playground at Bishan
One of my oldest and fondest memories is playing at the playground near my grandmother’s house. My grandmother used live in a terrace house off Mei Hwan Drive and when we were over for the day, my mum and aunts would walk us kids to the playground at the top of the road near the current Goldenhill Park condominium. Those were some of the happiest and most carefree times of my life. There were a couple of see-saws, swings, a big roundabout, and a tall slide. I think the swings were our ... read more
