We've moved right along in December and Christmas is fast approaching! I wanted to share a bit about what we're doing for Advent as I've been having fun with this year's Advent calendar (of sorts). Truth be told, I've not been very consistent about it. I'm embarrassed to admit that despite my good intentions, I've been doing the opposite and getting caught up with the things I said I wanted to avoid. Not good at all. It's only in the past week that I've taken some time to re-align myself and ... read more
Cruising with Costa
The kids and I recently had a mini-break of a different kind when we hopped aboard a cruise for a 4-night trip, which included stops in Phuket and Langkawi. It's really been a while since I've been on a cruise so I was really looking forward to it! I remember going on a couple of cruises to nowhere with my folks, and also once for a friend's 21st birthday. Those were the days when my sister and I would excitedly check out schedules and go join dancing and other sports activities on deck, before ... read more
Babies Proms 2013
On Thursday, we went for Babies Proms -- our 4th edition, would you believe it? Since that time when I managed to get tickets quite by chance in 2010, we've been back every year, and have gone on to induct Meips into it too.This being our 4th time attending, it was all familiar and par for the course for me. The programme was much the same as last year, following the same format, and with a number of songs being repeated. I enjoyed this year's selection of music and no, it's not because they ... read more
A Hi-5 Party Is Coming To Town!
There's a party coming to town and the little lady of the house is most excited! I'm talking about the Hi-5 House Party of course, which will be at the Marina Bay Sands Mastercard Theatres from 20-22 December. We'll be catching the show and my little Meips is over the moon. When I first told her about it, her eyes lit up, and since then, she's been telling EVERYONE we meet that we'll be watching Hi-5. I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see her so excited. This is the first time we'll be ... read more

It's the school holidays! Time to put aside the books, let your hair down, get out and just have fun. Unfortunately, it's been WET. Hello December.We've still managed to be out and about a bit but some days, we just holed up and did some art and craft. Luckily for me, I had the help of the Lollibox Christmas Hamper, which made it that much easier for me to keep the kids occupied! What's Lollibox, you ask? Mustela Bébé {Christmas Giveaway #3}
When it comes to the children's skincare, one of the brands that I keep coming back to is Mustela.This love affair started when Noey was a wee newborn. He was small and he was perfect... and he had cradle cap. Being a new mom (and therefore anxious about everything), I desperately wanted to get rid of it, but didn't know how. Then one day I spied the Mustela Foam Shampoo for Newborns which is formulated to prevent and eliminate flakes associated with cradle cap. I grabbed a bottle to use and ... read more
ToTT Presents: Best Brunch Ever
I don't know about you, but there's nothing much that I like better than starting the day with a leisurely breakfast.Sadly, I don't get the chance to enjoy this much on regular days as my mornings are usually a mad rush. On Mondays to Fridays, I'm busy ferrying Noey to school, DD to work and Meips to classes. Noey's got music class on Saturday morning and Sunday morning is reserved for church. It's usually grab and go for me. So I'm really enjoying the school holidays now, where we've had a bit ... read more
Fun Times with the Playful Elves {Christmas Giveaway #2}
It's the school holidays! If you, like me, find yourself with energetic children on your hands, one great way to keep them entertained and bouncing off walls that are not your own is to bring them to an indoor playground. That's just what I did one morning, when the kids and I rocked up to Playful Elves for a morning of fun.Situated at West Coast Plaza, Playful Elves occupies a unit on the second floor which isn't huge, but surprisingly manages to pack a lot in. There are a number of different ... read more
Diaper Freedom
As of two weeks ago, Meips has been officially off diapers. Both in the day AND night. I think that is a milestone worth recording.It didn't feel like that long ago when I was talking about starting potty training. And in truth, Meips' journey to diaper freedom hasn't been all too difficult. Perhaps it is selective memory on my part!This was certainly one area in which I was grateful for her strong independent streak. Wanting to do everything like the "big girl" that she insisted she was, she ... read more
SSO’s Concerts For Children: Carnival of the Animals
It was quite by chance that we ended up attending the Carnival of the Animals concert at the Esplanade last week.I have been bringing the kids regularly to Babies' Proms, and I hadn't thought of trying SSO's Concerts for Children yet. But when Noey's music teacher offered the class some tickets to Carnival of the Animals, I knew I had to bring the kids to the show as it is one of the their favourite pieces of music. I had bought the SSO-produced CD of the piece after Babies' Proms last year ... read more
