A couple of weeks ago, DD and I sneaked out for a special treat -- a lunch, just the two of us! I bade a firm goodbye to the kids, telling them that I was going for an "adults-only" lunch, and whizzed down to pick the husband from the business district. From there we took a short drive over to Tanjong Katong Road where we were welcomed at Trattoria Bonissima.I'd been there once before with a friend and just knew that it would be the kind of place that DD would like -- hearty food in generous ... read more
Two-Year-Old Speak
Naomi is two and growing fast. As I did with Noey, I still marvel at the fact that birthdays are such milestones for the little ones. They just seem to grow up overnight every time they mark a year. Our little baby is no longer a baby, and she knows it. "Don't call me naughty! Call me a girl!" she said indignantly the other day.Well, she's a naughty girl alright, but still one of the cutest ones around in our book. DD and I are always laughing over the funny things that she says daily. Here are ... read more

It’s Ok To Get Dirty with Breeze!
Whew, have we been have a busy time this school holiday!I've been relishing the late mornings and the opportunity to do what I like best: bringing the kids out all everywhere! My husband looks at my schedule and shudders, but I honestly would much rather be traipsing around all over managing two kids having fun than be stuck at home constantly breaking up fights and dealing with mess. My true aim is to be a Don't-Stay-At-Home-Mum, you see.Not forgetting the fact that a bonus about being out and ... read more
I’m A SAHM, Yes That’s Me
I've been a Stay-At-Home-Mum (SAHM) for the past year. More like a year and half really, since I stopped work at the end of Oct 2011.And yet, every time someone asks me what I do, my first instinct is to cite my previous job status and employment.Don't get me wrong - I like being SAHM. It's having to deal with the reaction of others when they find out I'm a SAHM that I don't like.I recently attended a birthday party where an old schoolmate asked me what I was doing. When I told her I haven't ... read more
Disney on Ice: Princesses And Heroes
The kiddies and I had a special treat this evening when we went to catch Disney on Ice's latest production: Princesses and Heroes. It's been years since I've caught Disney on Ice so I can tell you I was definitely as excited, if not more excited, than the kids! I think you just can't take that Princess out of a girl, mother or not. And I was glad that we were not disappointed. We were slightly late, notwithstanding the fact that I'd given us nearly an hour to make what would normally be a ... read more
Tomato and Watermelon Salad
A recipe for the weekend! This is a watermelon salad that I made as an add-on to the catered food at Naomi's party. I was glad that it was completely cleaned out - I dished out some of the last bits to DD before I packed the bowl away and it got his stamp of approval too. Then again, watermelon is his favourite fruit EVER, so maybe I shouldn't have been surprised!I know that the classic pairing involves watermelon and feta cheese, but I'm one of those oddballs who isn't such a fan of feta. So I ... read more
Kite Flying at Marina Barrage
It seemed like a perfect windy day activity -- kite flying. It had been raining every afternoon for practically the whole month, so I wasn't sure if the weather was going to hold out for our afternoon date at Marina Barrage. But God was gracious. On this day, it rained earlier than usual, leaving the weather clear in the late afternoon. Us parents didn't take chances though, and dressed our kids in wellies, for fear that the ground might be wet. As it turned out, we didn't have to, but it sure ... read more
Naomi Turns Two: Birthdays Are My Favourite and My Best!
Our little Naomi turned two on Saturday and we had a (not-so-)little party to celebrate. The theme for this one? Charlie and Lola! Both my kids absolutely love Charlie and Lola, (or "Yo-ya" as Naomi used to call her) and fortunately, I find them incredibly cute too. It also seemed appropriate for a two-year old so it was an easy choice.I had decided some time back that I wanted to have the party at a gym because Naomi really loves gym and I thought it'd be a fun thing for her to do on her ... read more
