Dearest not-so-little Meips,You're One, baby! How are you liking finally being able to add a year to your age?Cheery on the morning of your birthday and wondering why you were having the phone pointed at your face this early in the morning. We had grand plans to bring you out on your birthday, but alas, the weather dawned grey and rainy. All outdoor plans had to be scrapped. Especially since you and Gor-gor were barely recovered from bronchitis, we decided not to risk the rain. We were all quite ... read more
Brother and Sister Bear
I see this picture of Noey and Nomi together and I wish it reflected the reality of a loving and close relationship between the two.The truth, however, is far from it. Noey is -- currently -- quite possibly the worst brother EVER. Everyday I find myself having to tell him at least 20 times or more:"Don't hurt Mei-mei!""Don't push her!""Don't snatch things from her!""Noey, you are not allowed to shout and smack Mei-mei. Only Mummy can do that if she's naughty.""Be gentle with her.""Share, Noey. ... read more
Photo-A-Day Challenge: February
A round-up of my pics for the February photo-a-day challenge:Wondering what this is about? Check out my post in January where I first shared about this. For those of you playing along, I hope you're still having fun. I was delighted to hear from a number of you that you were inspired by me to join in. It's been great seeing all your photos. It was trickier for me to snap this month, and I was late several times, but looking back at the series, I'm glad I did it. There are quite a number of ... read more
Hairy Tales
Noey's new lookNoey's new haircut deserves a post, not just because it was long overdue, but because this is the first successful haircut we've had with him in a long while. There was no screaming, minimal crying and it took only about an hour from start to finish. A far cry from the ordeal it usually is. It is a bonus that it looks good too. And the icing on the cake -- it was FREE!Yup, his hair stylist was none other than his own Papa.We used to bring Noey to Junior League at Suntec City. ... read more
Workshop: How to Create a Non-Toxic Home
I am way, way behind with my blog. Having to run to repeatedly to the Paed with 2 sick kids and plan a party in between, while being sick for a bit myself, blogging does get pushed way down the priority list. I hope to be back with more updates soon. But first I have an interesting event to share. The good folks behind Four Cow Farm and Little Green Dot are organising a fun, hands-on workshop on "How to Create a Non-Toxic Home". This will be taking place next Thursday, 15 March ... read more
ONE!
She's ONE today. It really felt like just a blink of an eye.Naomi recovered sufficiently to enjoy her day. A cough still plagues her beauty sleep, but she's back to her radiant self, full of sunbeams and smiles. Even the fact that it rained the whole day didn't dampen her spirits. It was playtime today, and tomorrow? Tomorrow, we party. Happy birthday, baby girl. We love you so so so much. ... read more
Sick Little Bunny
It's been the sickies around here for the past week.SICKI suppose it started with my helper who developed a sore throat after Chinese New Year. (Too much goodies, I told her.) That became a hacking cough that wouldn't go away. Then Noey and DD followed suit, coming down with fevers and yucky phlegmy coughs. After 2 weeks of that, I guess it was inevitable that Meips and I succumbed too. At least I only got the cough/cold combination and no fever. Poor Meips got the full works and is one sick ... read more
Drawing Inspiration
Noey's really into drawing these days. He's always loved art, but it's only over the past couple of months that his drawings started to take shape. His first recognisable drawings comprised simply of 2 dots for eyes and a line for a mouth. That was maybe about half a year back? Now there is some semblance of a real drawing. The magnetic drawing board is his squiggle pal these days. And while I prefer it to the sheets and sheets of paper which he loves to use liberally, sometimes, when he ... read more
The 1st Visit to the Dentist
Mr Too-Cool-For-School Noey achieved another milestone this week, when on Valentine's Day (no less), he paid his first visit to the Dentist. While the books that I read recommended that you bring your child to the dentist at around 18 months, I didn't. Knowing full well how sensitive Noey is, and seeing as how every trip to cut his hair is a full-on ordeal, we didn't think that he would take too kindly to someone poking around in his mouth. Fortunately, our Paed assured us that it wasn't a ... read more
11/12
Dearie Meips,You're 11 months old and ready to take on the world on your own 2 feet. Yup, you hit your biggest milestone yet this past month when you started walking at 10.5 months. This is, incidentally, exactly when your brother started walking as well. We were really excited of course, but really, no one is more pleased about this development than you are. You are SO PROUD to be walking around on your own, that you're always strutting around with the biggest smile on your face.Baby coming ... read more
