Today I’m going to introduce you to a little store, which, if you’re a regular follower of this blog, will not be new to you at all.
I’m talking about the Elly Store of course! Tucked away in Cluny Court, this is a little gem of a store which is so pretty, you can’t help but walk in when you see it. And if you see a familiar face up on the wall, yes, that’s Noey on the big canvas, and in a couple of other little pictures near the cash register.
Inside, you’ll find a treasure trove of gorgeous things for little girls AND boys, from birth up to about 6 years of age. There are shoes from well-loved brands like Pediped and Skeanie, cute and eco-friendly wooden toys, lovely prints for nurseries and children’s rooms, sweet jewellery and hair accessories for little girls, plushies for babies, and of course, their own in-house line of clothing. Elly prides itself on producing chic and fun fashion for children that also delivers quality in comfort and great design. Their simple designs teamed with quirky and unusual prints have been making fans of parents and children alike in the short time they’ve been in business. I love the fact that they have paid special attention to boys who, sadly, often have very limited choices when it comes to clothing. Elly’s Little Man’s Shirt comes in a range of different designs, for once giving little boys similar choices that the girls are used to. The matching sibling sets are also very cute!
On a personal note, this store and its clothing line are the product of lots of hard work on the part of my friend Audrey and her sister Carol, and I am so happy for them to see their dream come to fruition in this store.
Elly’s latest collection is out in stores and true to form, it’s full of the cutest dresses and shirts. I had a hard time picking out my favourite for Naomi, but in the end, I couldn’t put down the scooter-print, so that’s what she got. I think it’s just adorable! Audrey says they launched this print, with its union jack design and colours, as a nod to the London Olympics, and I think that’s a nice touch.
I took Naomi out for a run around in the park in this dress and she was easily the best dressed kid around! I don’t usually put her in a dress to go to the park, but in this case, the Wonderland Dress’ comfy design gave her the freedom to move as she pleased while keeping her cool on a rather muggy evening, so she was quite happy in it. And again, how cute are those scooters on that dress?
A new addition to the Elly line in this collection is their Girls’ Shorts. Naomi got to try a pair of these on for size and they are so cute, I’m definitely going back for more! On Audrey’s recommendation, I got Naomi size 2-3 years and it fits perfectly over her diapered butt. These shorts are a good alternative to tights, which I usually pop her into when she’s enjoying messy outdoor play. And that print! I wish I could get a pair of these shorts for myself.
And now, some good news: Elly is offering all readers of this blog an exclusive 10% DISCOUNT on everything in its online store: http://ellyloves.com! And yes, that includes their latest collection of dresses and shirts, and their girls’ shorts! Just enter “SMALLTHINGS10” when checking out to claim your discount. This promotion is on from now till 30 September 2012.
You should also “like” the Elly Facebook Page to find out about their latest collections, promotions, and some of the new products which they keep adding to the store.
Have fun shopping!
