Whenever we don’t have any idea where to go for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, my husband would suggest going to Prive Bakery Cafe.
There are many reasons to love this place, but mainly, we love the fact that its location right by the water at Marina at Keppel Bay means that there is plenty for the kids to see and space for them to run around. Which is as good a reason as any to head there with the kids!
When he’s not staring at the boats or trying to get through the automated gates to get on one, Noey is quite fascinated by the water features, which, enticingly, have plenty of bubbles.
Obligatory smile.
As an added bonus, they also have a little playhouse and slide set which is perfect for younger kids.
“Is this house for me, Mama?”
“I see you!”
Getting some help from Aunty M with the slide.
The food is not bad either. The Fish & Chips is Noey’s standard order. It’s not hard to see why. The fish is fried really well, and the chips are excellent — thick (but not too thick) and crisp.
Going for the fries first, as usual.
DD quite enjoys the Simply Prive Burger too, a wagyu patty topped with melted cheese, streaky bacon and garlic mayo. Yum. Otherwise, my favourite dishes are the pastas. I have a soft spot for Spaghetti Bologniase and I really enjoy the version here.
DD’s order was the Wagyu burger with fries. Not sure why Nomi is trying to feed his ear a piece of tomato.
My Seared Beef Salad. It was the first time I was ordering it and I was surprised by the mountain of salad that arrived. Fortunately it tasted pretty good.
The weakness here is the service, which can be patchy, depending on the day. On busy Saturday afternoons, they can be overstretched and it can get frustrating trying to get the attention of any serving staff. I tell myself that you can’t win them all. At least they are generally efficient when you can get hold of them. And the food and surroundings keep us coming back. Noey loves to peer into the waters around the marina and we once spotted a jellyfish in the water. This happened more than a year ago and to this day, he still remembers it.
If you’re wondering why my kids look a bit different in this post, it’s because these photos were taken in, erm, March! I think it’s time for a trip back to Prive some time soon for us too.
See you around!

Is the playhouse new? We've been there before but have never seen it. Then again, it has been sometime since we've had Saturday brunch there. Perhaps a good reason to drop by soon 🙂

I think it's been there for a while – about a year? Corsage was the one who alerted me to it. Always helps to have such play equipment available!
