’Tis the season again for… mall shows!
I’m not really a mall show stalker myself — I admit it, the crowds scare me! — but on the few occasions that I’ve brought the children down to catch one, they have always enjoyed the experience. For me, the priceless moment comes when I see their eyes light up in recognition when their favourite characters take to the stage!
That was why I dragged the kids (and their Godsisters) down to Square 2 just before the school holiday started when I heard that there was a Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival Meet & Greet happening that weekend. My Mei is a huge fan of Minnie Mouse and gang, a love stoked by our trip to Hong Kong Disneyland last year, and I knew she would dearly love to meet Mickey and Minnie again.
L: Dressed for the part!
R: Noey getting up on stage to answer a question and winning himself a programme as a prize.
We were a little disappointed that Mickey and Minnie only did a little number instead of putting on more of a performance, but at least we got to bounce on stage to get up close to them! As an added bonus, we got to meet Donald too when he came up on stage subsequently.
The gang with Mickey and Minnie!
Hello Donald!
The little Miss was well-pleased, and that’s what counts in my book!
The meet & greet with Mickey and the gang from Disney Live! is over, but Square 2 does have other musical and dance performances happening in the weekends for its A Starlit Christmas and in the run-up to Christmas, with lots of deals from participating merchants too.
