Happy Birthday to our precious 4!
Noey spent his first Children’s Day aptly celebrating his birthday with 3 other special little people — Bean, Kate and Raeann.
We had started talking about this special little party way back when we realised that with our little bubs being born within 8 days of each other, with Bean and Noey in fact sharing the same birthday, they would hardly, if ever, be able to attend each other’s parties. The idea for a joint party was mooted and readily agreed to. Since then we’ve all been looking forward to this day.
I knew what I wanted to do as soon as we’d confirmed the date: Get DD to take leave and come and take the photos so I would have non-blurry shots for once! As anyone with a little active bub would know, it is extremely difficult to get these little ones to sit still, and in an indoor setting with a point-and-shoot with 4 babies, it is near impossible to get a clear shot. Worse if you have to handle the babe and take the photos at the same time. I am so glad I did cos his photos turned out great, and definitely better than anything I would have taken!
And best of all, he got to meet all of the 4 little ones (and their mummies and daddies too) that I had been telling him about over the past year. And photograph them to his heart’s content!
It was kinda tricky getting the 4 near the cake but not TOO near. We had to start with the ice cream cake cos it was melting. Not that anyone was going to object to a first course of yummy Haagen Dazs Belgian Chocolate!
All eyes on the prize! We did give Noey just a little taste. Fortunately he was distracted by other things and did not clamour for more.
Noey having fun with Bean’s toys, though I dare say that styrofoam cup kept him busy for a long time, especially after he realised that Bean’s plastic balls fit nicely in it.
Bean with his space capsulte of a ball pit. I loved it…
… and Noey thought it was a big laugh playing peekaboo with Momo’s Mum through it.
Kate smiling on cue, while waving in her hand one of those little velcro pieces that the girls absolutely loved.
“Have a biscuit!” Raeann, generous to a fault with her food.
Of course we had to try to get a shot of all 4 babies sans parents but it was sooo difficult as each of them would take turns being uncooperative, with Noey being the biggest culprit.
Finally distracted enough for one shot!
My little helper distributing the gifts to his friends.
And attacking gleefully the party pack that Momo had prepared for them. Needless to say, the highly recognisable and popular Baby Bites went first.
Momo and Yuling have summarised the party wonderfully so I shall refer you to their pages and shan’t say much more, save that all 3 of us enjoyed ourselves tremendously, Noey included. He even finished a whole bowl of porridge which Momo had kindly prepared for him, much to this mummy’s delight.
So now we’re thinking of doing this every year. I certainly hope we do! Much as I want to keep them all the adorable babies they are forever, having this group to grow up with is the next best thing. Thank you all for a wonderful day!
