Sometimes the things that make an impression on a child, are not quite what you would expect.
We brought Noey to the Zoo on Saturday and this is his conversation with his Ah Kong about it when he met Ah Kong on Sunday.
Ah Kong: | What did you do at the Zoo yesterday, Noey? |
Noey: | Noey sat on the tram! And Noey saw the boat! The tram was higher than the boat. |
Ah Kong: | Okay… and what else did you see? |
Noey: | Noey saw the statues! And the waterfalls! |
Ah Kong: | How about the animals? Did you see any animals? |
Noey: | Yes. |
Ah Kong: | What animals did you see? |
Noey: | The giraffes. And Jie Jie Sophie said “smelly, smelly!” |
Undeterred, Ah Kong tries again:
Ah Kong: | There were plenty of animals of the Zoo, right Noey? What did Noey like best? |
Noey: | The fish. |
(This is true. While we were busy pointing out the white tigers to Noey, he was busy pointing out the fish in the moat at the tiger exhibit to us.)
Makes me wonder why we bothered to bring him to the Zoo to see the animals at all!
Noey and his beloved fish.
Really not so sure about the Pygmy Hippo…
We very cleverly forgot to bring our stroller, of all days, so we rented one of these for $18. They had Maclaren strollers too, but this looked more fun. Noey was pretty happy to sit in it, thankfully, with Sophie.
Yes, “Noey sat in a wagon with Jie Jie Sophie!” featured in his recollection of his Zoo trip.
Noey spies something interesting. Probably the tram, going by his track record.
Noey on the tram. The absolute highlight of highlights of the trip. He pointed out EVERY SINGLE tram that went by. At the end of the day, we didn’t have the heart to bring him home without a single ride. It was a good break from the walking for us too anyway.
Fading…
Just barely hanging in there…
Completely knocked out. Feels like he carried over his “sleep-in-any-moving-vehicle” tendencies from Sydney back home!
Maybe we should stick to the Botanic Gardens — it’s much nearer, free, and yes, has plenty of fish to feed!

I rented a Maclaren stroller but more to push my heavy bags than to ferry Bean around. He walked all the way. Lol. I do wish both my kids have the sleep in moving vehicle tendency. It's such a torture driving long distances with Dot! screaming her lungs out.

Sophie is SUCH a babe!

Boys are boys… The highlight of all the zoo trips are the tram rides. When I asked my boy if he wants to see the zebras or giraffes, he would mention the zebra tram and giraffe tram.

When nat went to the zoo with daddy and I asked what did he see…he only wanted to tell me about the elephants. Nothing else.

michelle :: yeah, i did think about that too and the wagon could fit more of our crap! haha. i'm glad the kids did sit in it though. sophie so pretty isn't she?

elaine :: haha! noey did ask for the tiger tram, and fortunately for him, that's what came along. you're right, it's totally a boy thing! sophie on the other hand preferred an elephant ride.
<br /
