It’s tough being back at work after a long lovely holiday.
We spent 10 fabulous days in Sydney over the past week and a bit, and reluctantly returned home on Saturday. Despite the fact that the weather was rather cold and it rained a few days — where were the glorious blue Australian spring skies?? — we had the best family holiday EVER. We chose to go to Sydney in part to visit family and Noey’s Ah Kong was thrilled to bits to have his beloved grandson around for more than a week. Noey was equally enthralled with all the attention, toys and books at his disposal, plus all the new things he got to see, and we (DD and I) got to spend time together (and SHOP!) without needing to constantly mind Noey 24/7.
Win-win-win.
Needless to say, we planning to go back again soon!
That apart, Noey appears to have turned into a fabulous traveller. He slept well on the overnight flight to Sydney, slept on every road trip we took or was otherwise happily singing away, generally didn’t suffer much jet lag, ate well (plenty of fish and chips!) and was honestly a good boy for most parts. I really don’t think I could have asked for more.
This was his 5th trip out of the country and his 3rd time on a plane but this was the first time he was actually aware of the fact that we were going on a holiday and I dare say he enjoyed it to the max. I guess as parents, we found it extra enjoyable that he was and is still able to remember and recount many of the activities and things he saw. He has been telling everyone who would care to listen how Ah Kong and Noey did this and that and saw this and that, and when he woke up on Sunday morning, our first day back home, his first sentence was “Ah Kong and Noey saw the clownfish in the sea anemone!”. Even when we were on the plane home he still declared that “we are taking an aeroplane to Sydney to see Ah Kong!”. We had to tell him that we were heading home instead.
My first day back at work and I am missing my baby and our family time a lot. Ah well, till the next holiday I guess.
More pics and updates to come once I sort out the photos. As usual we have far too many!

Lovely!! I still dare not plan any overseas trip coz Bean and Dot! especially doesn't take too well to traveling on vehicles. I'm still thinking bout Bintan. Lucky Noey! Lucky you too! Noey's like this little grown up sometimes.

Michelle :: I wouldn't either if Noey was still bad with car seats. They are super strict in Aust as well so there was no way we were going to be able to take him out. I'm sure your 2 will get used to it in time! In the meantime, Bintan is lovely. Have fun!
