We popped by to visit the Auyongs on Friday on Noah's 1st playdate of sorts, considering how both little babies don't exactly play just yet. I carted Noah up in his car seat and both little ones obligingly went to sleep to the soothing tunes of Corrine May while their Mummies sat and chatted about them and other things of the state of Mummy-dom that we both find ourselves in over tea (or rather, soyabean milk!) and cakes.Of course we had to shove them together for some pictures before we ... read more

Just like Mum and Dad
It's been slightly more than 24 hours after my confinement nanny took her leave and I'm exhausted. Partly from having to manage Noah at night all by myself, partly as a result of the hectic schedule of delivering Noah's 1-month cakes to my office and DD's office in the afternoon with baby in tow. Then again, as I looked at my Mum and Dad who took the time to drive me around to make the deliveries and help me with Noah, I was struck by how parenthood is a lifelong commitment. Like my parents are ... read more
Daddy and Baby
Some Daddy and baby shots that make me smile. Other than haing some fun at Noah's expense, DD is completely the doting Daddy that I knew he would be. Everyday he swoops in after work to hover around baby, and at the slightest peep, he'll scoop him up for a carry with a merry "Daddy 最疼你的!" (All this Chinese speaking the result of the confinement nanny's presence!) And while I object to the brainwashing attempts, I am both amused by his enthusiasm and happy that he really adores his son. Daddy ... read more
Taking the Bottle
The night after he turned 4 weeks old, we decided to give Noah his first bottle of expressed breastmilk. Daddy DD was the most excited about it since it gave him a chance to be directly involved in the feeding process. I on the other hand was excited about the prospect of being relieved from some of the continuous feeding that goes on here everyday. But for baby? It was happily a non-event. Roused from his sleep for his feed, he took to the offered bottle teat and sucked down 4 ounces in about 5 ... read more
Rounding out…
With all the eating he's been doing, my baby has lost some of his newborn grumpy small old man looks and has started to fill out and look more like a baby.Sometimes when I look at the pics we took of him at birth and a few days thereafter, I'm surprised at how much he's changed over the course of just 4 weeks, and how much he has grown. And to think that I was so distressed when we went back for his first week review to find that he had lost weight and weighed in at 2.95kg -- his birth weight ... read more
Snack Bar Mummy
Hello, I'm Snack Bar Mummy. This week, my good baby who fed every 3 or so hours and then popped back to sleep shortly after decided that he would like to stay awake for most of the day and feed every hour or so. I feel like AM food on tap.I appreciate the fact that it has resolved some of the minor engorgement issues I was having but geez, I'm really getting somewhat worn out by constantly having to cradle my baby to the breast as he gets increasingly cranky as the day wears on and supply runs ... read more
Anniversary Date
With my parents' blessings, I escaped my confinee status on Wednesday night to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. I was resigned to spending our anniversary at home and perhaps postponing any celebrations to next month but DD decided that we needed the break from home to lift my spirits. I love my baby but I've been getting restless cooped up at home, especially when it's been so HOT and MUGGY recently. Thankfully my mother also agreed I needed to get out and okay-ed our excursion. She even ... read more
Confinement-Break
It's been 2 weeks into confinement and already I look forward to our doctor's appointments cos they give me a reason to get out of the house with just DD and little Noey in tow. How sad is that? Anyway, we've thus made 2 excursions back to TMC over the last 2 weeks, the first for Noey's first review with the Paed on the Wednesday following his birth, and the second the following Wednesday to our O&G doctor to get me checked out. I'm very encouraged that our baby has shown himself to be fairly ... read more
Turning Circles
Little Mr Noah Ong's favourite cot activity: Turning himself in different positions from that in which he was laid. Pity I didn't get a shot of him when he'd managed to turn himself 90 degrees to be perpendicular to the position we'd originally laid him in the cot. He is also able to roll himself on to his side when laid flat on his back. And just today when our confinement nanny put him on his tummy for a nap and we came shortly thereafter to check on him, we found him crawled into a corner of ... read more
