Little Being Noah Ong

October 6, 2008 by Mummybean 23 Comments

He's here! Little Noah OngArrived on 2 October 2008, 1932 hrsYes, Little Being's finally got a name. We had always wanted to pick a biblical name and it is our prayer that he would walk with God as Noah of old did.But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD... Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.- Genesis 6:8-9Thanks to all who visited us in the hospital. We're back home, safe and sound and both his Daddy and I are totally enamoured our new little son ... read more

Fernando…

September 29, 2008 by Mummybean 2 Comments

It was the weekend of 2 Fernandos:Torres, whose 2 goals sank Everton in Merseyside derby and made DD a happy camper......And Alonso, who beat the odds to win F1's first ever night race in Singapore So, who agrees with me that that was one UGLY trophy? Poor Alonso didn't even know how to hold it after being handed the thing by the PM!2 of my colleagues had been teasing me about going to the race and going into labour and we were joking about naming my kid after the winner of the race. At that ... read more

False Alarm

September 28, 2008 by Mummybean 8 Comments

And I lost 300g while Little Being gained 200g! Hurray! That is probably however due to the diarrhea that I suffered over Thursday and Friday, which on the flip slide, gave us a little scare on Friday morning when I started suffering contractions. After throwing up most of what I had earlier ingested in the wee hours of the morning, I was truly miserable when around 5.30am, I was starting suffering waves of pain in the abdomen. After checking my clock as they rolled around and finding no real ... read more

The Cars Go Screeching By…

September 24, 2008 by Mummybean 5 Comments

... Without Me.My precccciousssss tickets... now alas, no longer mine.Despite the national embarrassment I suffered to obtain these tickets, the show is rolling into town this weekend and I'll have to catch the action on TV. My parents suddenly woke up to the idea that I was actually planning to go to the race this weekend and suddenly they were going on about "the crowds!", "the noise!", "all that walking!", and of course, "what happens if something happens when you're there?". The hubs agrees ... read more

Head-Over-Heels

September 23, 2008 by Mummybean 1 Comment

We encountered an unusual sight along Old Holland Road on the way back from lunch on Saturday.Zorb! Here in Singapore! Something we didn't get to try in NZ cos we ran out of time on our usual acitivity-packed trips...We were curious enough to stop by the side of the road to watch for a couple of minutes. It looked like fun, but the slope in that empty patch of land seemed a little too gentle to be exciting -- a couple of the facilitators essentially had to help the ball down the slope with the 2 ... read more

36 Weeks and Counting

September 18, 2008 by Mummybean 15 Comments

As usual I'm behind in posting this so I'm really into the 37th week as we speak. We passed the 36th week milestone without any issues and with that, Little Being is officially full-term and can arrive any day. But I guess he's thus far been kind to his as yet not 100% fully prepared parents by remaining snugly in the womb. During our visit to Dr Wong's, she assessed Little Being as being "unlikely to arrive within the next 2 weeks" and so far that seems to be the case. Our not-so-little babe ... read more

Cough cough

September 7, 2008 by Mummybean 15 Comments

Maybe it's the excitement of the past few weeks but I've suddenly been floored by a really bad cough and have been on MC the past few days. Ugh. DD's been feeling real bad about it cos he's been nursing a nasty cough for the past month, and after a course of medicine failed to sort it out, he has been ignoring it despite my repeated requests to PLEASE go visit the doctor again. Well, he didn't. And after the run of really cold weather over the past week, I've now come down with what looks to be ... read more

First “Family” Fotos

September 2, 2008 by Mummybean 11 Comments

It was Ron's lovely pics that tempted us into it.With only just over a month to go before Little Being's arrival, and with the tummy almost at full stretch, we thought it would be a good idea to get some really NICE pics as a keepsake of this momentous journey we're on to being parents. DD, being the enthusiastic photographer that he is, has taken quite a few pics of me throughout the course of these 9 months, but being the Daddy-to-be, we figured it was only right that we had some photos with ... read more

Spilling the beans on The Man

September 1, 2008 by Mummybean 5 Comments

As if DD doesn't complain that I blabber too much about him online -- here's more! Just about everyone seems to have done this so I thought I'd give it a shot while waiting for some stuff to download.1. He's sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen? Football. He wouldn't voluntarily turn on the TV for anything else! My man is a non-TV watcher.2. You're out to eat; what kind of dressing does he get on his salad? What salad?3. What's one food he doesn't like?Raw vegetables? See 2.4. You go ... read more

Room Improvement

September 1, 2008 by Mummybean 8 Comments

The past weekend has been packed with activity as we scrambled to get our act together on home front. Sitting in our messy living room these past couple of weeks, this was THE WEEK we were waiting for when the new wallpaper would arrive and be installed, our new curtains would be ready and delivered, and we could finally get cupboards and bookshelves in and up and we could PACK.(I never thought I'd be quite as enthusiastic about packing but the state of our house was really getting to me! I ... read more
