In the midst of that potential for change in the General Elections, a little change took place, quietly, in our own home. Our little sweetheart turned 2 months old. And as a reward to her parents for keeping things going the past 2 months, little Nomi has started smiling.Best way ever to start the morning. It makes me smile too.Our dear sweet little girl. We love you so very much.(Naomi's 5.4kg, 57cm at 2 months and 2 days. So despite her round face, she's a petite one!) ... read more
As the Curtain Falls
As the dust settles and election fever dies down, it's back to regular programming for me. I think my kids were glad to see me today without my face stuck in my iPhone, feverishly scrolling for updates as I had been for the past 2 weeks. This has been a very different General Election, not the least because I could finally go to bed after the results feeling some real satisfaction. Throughout the campaigning period, I was amused by the doomsday reckonings of my PAP supporting friends. I was ... read more
Polling Day
It's been quiet on this blog recently.Partly because life is busy with 2 young ones in the house and it's difficult for me to spend sufficient time on my laptop to blog. But honestly, it's because I've been sucked into the sound and the fury that is the hustings of GE2011. And if you know me, you'd know that once I'm interested in a subject, it consumes me. So I've been reading, listening and thinking about the elections to the expense of everything else. Polling Day is 7 May and DD and I happen ... read more
Altogether now, Smile!
Since we were all dressed for the wedding, we made several attempts to grab a good shot of our family of 4.Several attempts, I say, because it's just impossible to get both kids awake and looking at the camera. Looking cute is a plus. These are the best we got.I think we'll have to try again tomorrow during the dinner. ... read more
Today’s the day, to say I Do
While the eyes of the world have been trained on the Royal Wedding, it is another wedding that we have been eagerly anticipating this weekend.Today, my dearest sister is getting married. The siblings 3, Dec 2010My family home has been in a frenzy over the preparations over the last month, with my Mum in particular stressing out about packing the house, getting the nitty-gritties sorted out, and getting her wedding finery ready.I haven't been in the thick of things, what with 2 kids running ... read more
Noah @ 2.5 years
It's been a while since I've written a proper update on Noey. Not that I haven't wanted to, but he's grown, and continues to grow so fast, as all children do. So much so that I wonder: how do I condense all that he is, at any one point, into a page (even if it is a very long page)? It's no longer just about physical milestones. Aspects of his character have emerged, both the good and the bad.Noey passed the 2.5 year (30 month) mark earlier this month -- he's zooming into his 31st month as we ... read more
Photography Skills
I pulled out some old photo albums recently to show Noey the Statue of Liberty. He saw some images of it randomly in different magazines and books, and I wanted to impress him with the fact that Mummy had been to see the real thing. (Odd quirk of Noey's: He loves statues of all sorts. He thoroughly impressed his Nainai by asking her, when he saw the statue of liberty, "What is the name of that statue?" instead of "What is that?" as she expected him to.)While rummaging through the albums, I came ... read more

Kick & Play
Why, hello there birdie! At 6 weeks, Naomi is starting to show a little more interest in the toys and things around her. Cue: Time to break out the playgym and crank up the mobile! You would think that this being our second child, we would be well equipped with the necessary baby gear, but no. Between the stuff that Noey didn't like (ie. rockers, swings, etc.) and stuff which he took apart (ie. the toys from his playgym), I found our stash of baby equipment surprisingly thin. Not wanting to end up ... read more
The 1st Month Milestone
Dear Little Nomi,If there's one thing you will learn about your Mummy, it is that I am not the best at meeting deadlines, especially deadlines that I set myself, like trying to post a 1-month update on you on the day you turn 1 month old. I have other good qualities, I promise.Anyway, this is supposed to be about you. You, my sweet little angel, who have waltzed ever so quietly into our hearts over this month. When we brought you home from the hospital, we couldn't believe that a baby could ... read more
