Being mostly housebound these days, we are all too happy to welcome visitors. On Thursday, we had Caitlin (together with her Mum and Dad) pop by to see us, all the way from Perth. It's been a while since we last met -- I think the bubs were about 7-8 months old the last time they were back in Singapore?Noey and Caitlin back when we last met in Singapore, and something has obviously caught their attention.Noey and Caitlin now, at nearly 2.5 years. Unfortunately we didn't think to whip out ... read more
38 Weeks…
Yet another week, yet another check-up.Summary: Baby is LOW. Like cannot-scan-her-head-completely-type LOW. But there is ZERO dilation.I kind of guessed that Baby Girl had moved down somewhat. I've been feeling quite a bit of pressure below over the past week, and have correspondingly been able to breathe better. The indigestion has also eased up somewhat. But I'm seriously waddling and shuffling along in my 不倒翁 manner! According to Dr Wong, Baby Girl is in position and we are just waiting for ... read more
Noeyspeak
Conversations with our almost 2.5 year old are getting more interesting by the day. Here are a few instances.(1)Some weeks ago, Noey was busy playing a game of pretend where he declared that he was different things, ranging from animals like the giraffe and lion, to objects like a lamp post. We played along and asked him to show us how he was what he declared. This went along until he declared, "I am a Papa!""You're a Papa?" I asked in mock surprise. "Then where are your children?""Gone!" he ... read more
To My Only Child
Hey there Noey-Bear,Mummy wanted to write you one last letter -- a letter to you as our only child -- before Mei-Mei arrives and our family changes forever. So drama, I know, but it is true. From here on after, you will have to share your parents and it will be all you'll ever know, to have Mei-Mei by your side. But your Papa and I will remember the days when you were our only baby, and let me tell you: they've been special. You, you are special. You were the one who turned your father and I into ... read more
37 Weeks Going On HUGE
37 weeks today, and all I can think is: Are we there yet???These days, everyone I meet looks at me with more than a little trepidation and tells me that I look like I'm ready to pop any minute. Trust me, I feel that way too. I don't remember being this uncomfortable the last time round with Noey and ironically, Baby Girl here is apparently smaller. I went for my 36 week check-up last week and at least I know that my size hasn't been caused by CNY feasting. To be honest, I didn't eat too much, ... read more
Elly Loves Spring!
For all you Mummies of precious little girls! My friend Audrey is launching the new collection of her little girls line, Elly, with an Open House this coming Sunday, 20 Feb 2011. If you shop on Pupsik Studio, you would probably have come across the previous collection of Elly Dresses, which Pupsik carries. This new collection has been a while in the making but looking at the adorable dresses (on the extremely cute Sophie), I think it has been worth the wait. Sadly for me, it will be a while ... read more
My Reading Cleopatra
While scrolling through pics that DD had taken recently I came across this one, and it made me laugh. My reading CleopatraJust this morning, my helper was calling Noey to the table to have his breakfast. Noey, who was then busy flipping through a book in the bedroom responded with an exasperated "He's reading!". It was that tone in his voice that made us crack up. I swear, if he knew how to say it, it what he would have said was "He's reading LAH!". My baby, you are growing up too quickly! ... read more
CNY — 1st Day Festivities
I was dreading the thought of CNY before it arrived, wondering how I was going to lug my huge self around the island the whole day. But as it turned out, I actually quite enjoyed it when it finally arrived, tiredness notwithstanding. Possibly it was the fun of dressing Noey up in his CNY outfit.Noey in his ching-chong-china outfit of the day! I'm determined that he'll be in Chinese outfits every year until he protests! I was quite pleased with my find from OG, where I also got last year's ... read more
Reunion Dinner
Quite possibly the best food we've had thus far this festive period. (The cod didn't make the pic.)Reunion dinner was a simple affair at my MIL's place, but there was nothing simple about the food! There was homemade sharksfin-crabmeat-abalone soup which took centre stage, together with steamed cod and the braised meat-sea cucumber-mushroom dish and a sharksfin melon soup which was my personal favourite. DD, who had ordered the menu, was delighted. He kept looking at me hopefully, telling me to ... read more
迎春接福
I think all the recent wet weather has forced me to be a wee bit more creative with our indoor activities. I chanced on this post while surfing and thought, "hey, Noey and I can totally do that!". And so we did!I used double-sided tape to construct the word 福 on a piece coloured paper. I guess the traditional choice would have been red, but I didn't have any red paper (since I decided to do this craft on a whim), so I used orange paper instead. Then I turned it over to Noey for his favourite ... read more
