Somehow, even though it's my Mum's birthday we're celebrating, it looks like it's Noey's.My Mum's favourite cake as per her request: Cedele's sugarless Carrot Walnut CakeDear Noey, I do hope you realise how much you are loved by one and all. ... read more
Moving!
On Monday, we signed and handed over the biggest cheques I've ever written. We're officially broke! And we're going to be moving! There's much to do yet before it finally happens though. Stay tuned for more updates.Noey contemplates what lies ahead ... read more
Easter Bunny Comes Early
In what is becoming a yearly tradition, we joined the Tan family for their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Good Friday. It was a wee bit early to be enjoying Easter festivities on Good Friday but I think it also reminds us that Christ's sacrifice on the cross came to a glorious and victorious end and that is something to celebrate. Unlike last year, Noey was actually able to actively participate in the hunt, which was a great deal of fun for him and us. (Maybe more for us!)Listening to Godma Mich ... read more
18 Month Snapshot
Noey at 18 months:♥ is approximately 10.4kg and 84/85cm tall.♥ has 12 teeth and is sprouting more as we speak. His canines and pre-molars on his upper jaw have pushed through but we're still waiting for the corresponding teeth to make their appearance on his bottom jaw. We can feel them just under the gums though so I'm sure they've been bothering him quite a bit, poor thing.♥ has become very sticky to Mummy. "Mama! Mama!" can be heard at all times of the day whenever I walk out of eyeshot. ... read more
The Food Challenge
I thought the days of struggling to feed Noey his meals were over, but alas, after a good 3-month run, those difficult days seem to be making a reappearance. The little man is teething, and teething with a vengence. He's had his central and lateral incisors on both his upper and lower jaws for a while now, but recently cut the canines and first molars on his upper jaw. That already gave him some grief but now it looks like the same teeth are trying to break through on his lower jaw and it's ... read more
Wellies for the Wet Weather
In a turn around from the absolutely hot and sweltering February that just passed, it's been pouring quite a bit these past couple of weeks. Whether you believe in global warming or not, the weather has been rather screwy in recent years.Poor Noey has been house-bound quite a bit these few weeks, no thanks to the wet weather. It hasn't stopped him from dragging me to the front door and attempting to command me out the door by going "Door! Kai-Kai!". The other day he even impressively came ... read more
The Return of the Boob (to Me)
Probably the last time I fed Noey in public, in Hong Kong Disney in Dec 09. I was hardly feeding him when we were out of the house by then.On 16 March, I breastfed Noey for the very last time. He was 17 months and 2 weeks old. (It was supposed to be 15 March but I caved the next day!)It's been a long journey and I must confess, I'm not sorry to see it end. Except on the days when it takes FOREVER to get Noey to sleep and I think back on how he used to suckle and drift off into ... read more
Trials
Thank You Lord~Dan Burgess~Chorus:But it goes against the wayI am to put my human nature downand let the Spirit take control of all I do.'Cause when those trials come,my human nature shouts the thing to do;and God's soft prompting can be easily ignored. And I thank you, Lord, with each trial I feel inside, that you're there to help lead and guide me away from wrong.'Cause you promised, Lord, that with every testing, that your way of escaping is easier to bear. And I thank you, Lord, for the victory ... read more
Conversation Points
I recently commented that one of the things I miss most about our pre-Noey days was the one-on-one time DD and I used to have with each other, just talking. Good conversation has always been a key attribute of our relationship, from our pre-dating-just-friends days, to our dating days and well into our marriage. I guess we just like to TALK. (And I wonder why my son has so much to say all the time!) Last Monday we had the opportunity to go grab dinner on our own, so we decided on Tapas at Clarke ... read more
Thank You
When I first started blogging, one of the things I did not expect was to make friends online, with people whom I have never met, and would otherwise not have ever met. When I started, writing, I wrote for me and also for DD, who was my biggest fan, and still is. It was meant as a record for the both of us of the little events of daily life which would otherwise slip my terrible memory. But along the way, through writing, commenting and blog-hopping my way through the blogosphere, I met many ... read more
