Over the past month, Noey has been talking up a storm of baby proportions. He's picking up words daily and it feels like you'll never know when he's going to repeat the last word you said! He has started to copy words and sounds pretty accurately -- both the words we want him to repeat and those that we don't. Like when I passed his airplane to him with a casual "Nah", which he promptly repeated. Oops.It has been endlessly entertaining watching to see what he comes up with next. This is ... read more
Lo Hei
Lo Hei!Noey getting his first lo hei action of the month and I dare say he enjoyed it thoroughly! Using his favourite eating utensil -- chopsticks -- to toss food around... Hmmm, what's there not to like? Ummm!Especially when you top it off with eating the crispies!Sophie agrees that it is, indeed, a very good thing.Just a week to go till CNY and we're off to a good start. ... read more

Goodnight Moon
The moon in the night sky tonight was unusually bright. It was also eye-catchingly yellow, large and hanging unusually low. DD eyed it the entire journey back from DDMum's place and when we arrived home, he couldn't resist the temptation. He grabbed a tripod, a telephoto lens and headed out. He came back about half an hour later with some surprisingly clear moon shots, like this:I was pretty amazed that it was possible to catch some much of the detail on the moon's surface, craters and ... read more
Mr Sniffles
It's been a tough few days. Noey caught a cold a few days ago and while it has not impeded his level of activity, it is proving to be terribly disruptive to his sleep. He has been unable to nap properly in the afternoon since Tuesday and would wake up crying and unable to go back to sleep after 30 mins. He would therefore conk off earlier at night but then proceed to wake up a few times in the night, inconsolable. You there! Put down the camera and clean my nose!Let me tell you, ... read more
(Not A) Beach Boy
A beach boy he is not. At least, not yet."Yeargh! Get me off the sand please!"Noey joined Nat, Edgar and little K for some sand, sea and surf at Sentosa on Saturday. As it turned out, while Noey had been alright with the beach in Bintan, he didn't want his feet anywhere on the beach this time. He clung to us rather desperately, trying to get as far away from the sand as we would let him."Why are we here? It's no fun at all!"So while the others frolicked in the sand and the sea -- Edgar in ... read more
HK Day 3: Disneyland
I been meaning to post this but never got round to finishing it till just! Oops. Our Disneyland excursion was probably the highlight of our HK trip, both for Noey and for me, so I think it is only appropriate that I post this as a round up of the whole holiday, even if it was quite a while ago! Before I move on to say anything about Disneyland, I should probably disclose that I love theme parks, and Disneyland is just about my favourite. When my colleagues and I got the chance to go to ... read more
Houses and Hair
It's been a bit quiet on this blog yet again, this time because I've been busy scouring the pages of the classifieds and making calls to seemingly unhelpful agents and getting minor heart attacks over the asking prices of some property owners. Yes, we're looking for a new home. Much as we love our current place, we are fast outgrowing our space, no thanks to a certain little guy who just has so much STUFF. Our poor little apartment is fast reaching its limit.I've always found house hunting to be ... read more
15 Months — A Snapshot
Noey's now 15 months old and I really believe that this is the cutest age. He is still of baby proportions -- with the short limbs, big head and remnant baby fat -- and yet, he is more like a child then ever, responding and communicating as play, teach, and speak to him everyday. His command of the language has improved by leaps and bounds and he seems to be able to say a new word every couple of days. His diction is also steadily improving. I've finally been recognised -- he ... read more
Oh, To Be Young Again!
While I might gripe about my parents living out in the boondocks, I do enjoy the drive I have to make twice a week to go pick Noey home. (Ok, maybe only on the days when I'm not in a rush and the traffic isn't too heavy! Today was one of those days.)It is my me-time, cruising along with the radio playing, singing along to tunes or shouting out answers to the radio quizzes/contests or just zoning out. It's almost therapeautic at the end of the day. Today a song came on air that I must have heard ... read more
