Chugging into Our Neighbourhood

July 16, 2008 by Mummybean 4 Comments

They’ve announced the new extensions to the MRT line and it looks like we will have an MRT station literally right next to us.

In 2015.

CRAP.

At the risk of sounding ungrateful, I have to say that I think it would be a great thing to have an MRT station at our doorstep. Just NOT when they’re BUILDING it. The thought of my estate being like Holland Village – with the accompanying road diversions, construction and dust – makes me shudder. Sigh.

Well, we have till mid next year to enjoy the greenery that we currently enjoy when we look out our windows! Thereafter I suspect they will now parcel out quite a bit of the vacant land nearby for further residential projects now that they can tag an upcoming MRT station to it. What fun.

Gee, I really am all doom and gloom over this piece of news!
