It was the first day of school again — a brand new year in a brand new class.
Noey was very blasé about it. I think I was more excited about him starting K1 than he was.
At least there were no tears, thanks to the fact that he knocked out at 8.50pm the night before and therefore had sufficient sleep. It also helped that school hours are a measly 1.5 hours this week. For a boy who complains that the 3 short hours he spends in school are too long, it was music to his ears. I got the first real smile of the morning when I told him I’d be picking him up at 10am.
Day 1 went well – whatever there was of it anyway, considering how short it was!
“I behaved very well and nobody was angry with me.”
I suppose I couldn’t hope for much more. And since it was so incredibly early when I picked him up, I figured a first-day hash brown treat was in order, for all of us.
Let’s hope Day 2 and beyond go as smoothly!
