Smell Fresh with Active Fresh!

September 21, 2015 by Mummybean 2 Comments

A year on from when we were first introduced to the Johnson’s Baby Active Fresh™ range, they are back with another product. This time, a new version of their signature “no more tears” shampoo, enhanced with Active Fresh™ technology.

ActiveFresh1

I’ve been intrigued by Johnson’s Baby’s Active Fresh™ range since I first came across it because I think it is such a clever solution to meet an existing need. The Active Fresh™ line of products are formulated to help kids stay fresh and clean even during playtime, and it achieves this by employing a three-prong approach of (1) absorbing body sweat (with the use of Active Fresh™ Powder), (2) neutralising malodour, and (3) releasing long-lasting fragrance. Developed with the active child in mind, these products come with a specially designed long-lasting fragrance that stays on as he plays on.

I got my own bottle of Johnson’s Baby Active Fresh™ shampoo and my Mei was the one who was particularly excited to try it out. Perhaps this was due to the natural female inclination towards trying new toiletries, but I think it was also because she was rather attracted to the fragrance of the shampoo. “It smells like lollipop!” she said excitedly when I first washed her hair with the shampoo. I myself didn’t think it smelt as sweet as a lollipop but it did have a clean fresh scent that is rather appealing. As a parent, I was also grateful for the “no more tears” formulation which is gentle on kids even as it cleanses.

Of course I had to put the Active Fresh™ technology to the test, and really there is no one better for this than Mei, my sweaty little jellybean of a girl. Her favourite home activity is a toss-up between jumping on the sofa and on my bed (not hers, mind you) so you can imagine how sweaty she gets on a regular basis! She has been using Johnson’s Baby Active Fresh™ shampoo for the past week, and I’ve found that true to its claims, the shampoo keeps her hair smelling good even as the day wears on. When used together with Active Fresh™ powder, it keeps her smelling good and feeling fresh for longer. Aside from helping to absorb sweat, the Active Fresh™ powder’s sweat-activated fragrance means that, as counterintuitive as it sounds, she smells even better after all that jumping than before. I think that’s pretty amazing!

The great thing about Johnson’s Baby product range is that it is priced very affordably. The Active Fresh™ powder starts from $1.50 for 100g and the Active Fresh™ Bath from $3.45 for 200ml. The Active Fresh™ shampoo likewise retails at S$4.50 for 200ml and $9.95 for 500ml. The best thing about Johnson’s Baby’s Active Fresh™ range? Having my happy, active child feeling and smelling fresh whilst enjoying her playtime. For that, it gets my thumbs up.

Does the bath and shampoo contain SLS?

It doesn’t, but it does have SLES like most mass market commercial baby products do.
