Weekly Snapshot: Yakult

May 16, 2010 by Mummybean 10 Comments

My little Yakult boy

Which kid doesn’t love a bottle of Yakult?

Whilst he started off calling it “Ya-yot”, Noey quickly improved on his pronounciation of that bottle of the precious liquid. He asks for “Yalk-kult” whenever he can, be it first thing in the morning or even in the middle of the night when he is roused by a bad dream. Sadly for him, Mummy here hands over the bottle of Yakult rather sparingly. In fact, even when he gets to have a bottle, I usually drink some of it first so that he doesn’t drink to whole thing. That’s probably why the first thing he does when I hand the bottle over to him is to put some distance between himself and Mummy and quickly finish it off! (Which was what he was doing in that photo above, by the way.)

If only he was half as interested in his milk!

I always did wonder how come they drink their milk so slowly but they can polish off their yakults and juices and ribenas in record speed!! :)

Anyway, i've always been giving YK the reduced sugar version, until recently, i allowed him to try the orange flavoured yakult in its full sugared glory, and he

If nat doesnt see it, he doesn't ask for it! So he doesnt go for supermarket runs with us which means, no yakult at home!

Though to my mum's dismay, he rejects chrysanthemum tea and barley drinks, preferring milk (at certain times) and water most times.

I love Yakult myself! Yes, try him on the reduced sugar ones. They taste really similar so he may not be able to tell the diff. 🙂

You know what I used to do? Open up the yakult, drink half, fill the half back up with plain water, close the lid again, and stick in the straw. Looks like a full new bottle, but less cold and less sweet! heh, they won't know any better. Now I bochap already tho 🙂
