Wielding the Spoon

November 1, 2009 by Mummybean 4 Comments

Now that Noey has started to finally show an interest in the eating, I’ve been able to get him to do a bit of self-feeding, often with amusing results.

Bottoms up!

Yoghurt-face!

Noey’s favourite mode of eating is to use his hands and boy, has he been sticking them into everything these days! When offered, he’s also been pretty enthusiastic with the spoon, though not necessarily too good at it.

Noey’s short-lived creative attempt to use the spoon as a straw

Nyum nyum nyum. A baby has to work hard for his food these days!

It’s been messy but it’s all part of the process I guess. I just plan these sessions before bathtimes, have a wet towel (or two) handy and try very hard to keep his sticky fingers from touching too many things!

I’m (still) just glad he’s eating. He’s been quite the bottomless pit these few weeks, much to my delight. Long may it continue!
