Sometimes, your morning can turn out to be more interesting than you'd planned, just by chance.Feeling hungry after Noey's music class, I suggested going to The Pantry at Loewen Gardens for some brekkie. You can imagine my delight when, upon arriving, I discovered that it was a Farmers' Market weekend! If you have not heard, the Farmers' Market is an initiative of The Pantry, a cafe in the Loewen Gardens cluster in Dempsey. Twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays, a Farmers' Market is held. ... read more

Ko Samui: Ranong Restaurant
Ah, Thai food. That was one of the things I was most excited about when we made plans to head to Ko Samui. We didn't get as much of an opportunity to get good Thai food as I would have hoped so during our last night, we asked our hotel concierge to recommend some place where we could get some authentic Thai food. A place where locals frequented. He directed us to Ranong Restaurant. A few doors down from the huge Tesco Lotus in Chaweng and across the street from a 7-11, it wasn't difficult to ... read more
Our Ah Boy To Man
I haven't talked much about my baby brother on this blog too much in recent years. Mostly cos I didn't think he would appreciate it!I will always think of my brother as my first baby because he is a good 14 years younger than me, but in reality, he is definitely a baby no longer. Towards the end of last year, he got his NS call-up, and in Dec, he officially enlisted.Noey and I went along to see him off. It was a milestone in my brother's life and I didn't want to miss it.And ok, I've also never ... read more
A Wedding To Remember
Last Thursday, we skipped out of town for the weekend for the the sunny island of Ko Samui. It was a lovely break, and one that was much needed, but that was not why we went. It was to attend the wedding of someone dear -- DD's sis and the kids' Aunty Sarah.Banyan Tree Ko Samui was picture perfect. We were excited guests.Excited to see the bride, yes, but also to see Noey play his little part in the wedding. First a little pep talk from Ah Kong...… and our page boy was good to go.He was given the ... read more
OTO Mbraze Away Those Aches and Pains!
There is almost nothing I love more than a good massage. Going for regular massages used to be the highlight of my pre-parenting days. Those couple of hours I could spend just having someone work all the kinks out from my shoulders and back was pure bliss. Now with two kids to run after on a regular basis, I am hard-pressed to find the time to spend a couple of hours getting a massage. And the ironic thing is that I need those back rubs more than ever, especially when I'm hauling around 12kg ... read more
Rainbow Jelly
Something pretty to brighten up the weekend -- Rainbow Jelly!I made these for Naomi's birthday party last month and they were a hit with the kids and the adults alike. Jelly is a yummy sweet treat and the multi-coloured layers just made them all the more fun to eat. They generated quite a bit of interest and I had a couple of queries about these so I thought I'd make a post of it.I hesitate to call this a recipe since I really just used boxed jelly mix with the minor tweak of adding some ... read more
Experiencing Le Noir
Over the weekend, the husband and I went on one of the most spur-of-the-moment dates ever. (Or at least, as spur-of-the-moment as we can get, as parents!)DD mentions on Fri night that we could ask his Dad, who is in town, to help babysit the kids on Sat evening. I told him it sounded like a good idea. On Sat afternoon, DD mentions that his Dad is available, I hop on my computer, and the next thing I know, we've got tickets to go catch Le Noir that very night. I was super excited! I'd been ... read more
The Annual Easter Egg Hunt
In a continuation of a long-standing tradition (of 4 years!), we joined the Tan family for their annual Easter Egg Hunt this year. I really appreciate the effort our hosts put into organising this and making it meaningful for the kids. Despite having a fairly new baby, Mich found the time and energy to plan this event for the kids. what can I say? We're truly blessed to have such family! This year there was a little craft segment of making sun-catchers in the shape of eggs. We simply traced 3 egg ... read more
