Gymnademics Big Day Out + Giveaway!

April 19, 2013 by Mummybean 20 Comments

Do you love the theatre and want to explore and learn more about it with your child? Here’s a fun little event that will allow you to do just that: Lights! Sound! Action! An Adaption of a Classic Fairytale brought to you by Gymnademics in their annual Gymnademics’ Big Day Out!

Gymnademics Big Day Out 2013

Lights! Sound! Action! is a fun learning event that is specially tailored for children of 1 to 5 years of age. Join the Gymnademics team as they bring you a classic fairytale with a twist! After the show, the children will be given the opportunity to explore the stage set and learn about various parts of a theatre and also more about lights and sounds from a series of learning stations. In line with Gymnademics’ philosophy that parents are the best teachers, each child will also receive an activity booklet which contains take-home activities for parents to consider doing with their child.

Here are the details:

Date: Sunday, 5th May 2013
Times: 10 am, 11.30am, 2pm, 3.30pm, 5pm
Duration: Approx 1 hour
Venue: The Substation Theatre, 45 Armenian Street
Ticket Prices: Child $15, Adult $18

Tickets can be purchased here: http://www.gymnademics.com/BigDayOut2013.html

And now, a treat for the readers of this blog: I have ONE FAMILY SET of tickets (2 Adults +1 Child) to Lights! Sound! Action! to give away! The winner of these tickets can choose between the 2pm or 5pm seating.

To stand a chance of winning the set of tickets, do the following:

  1. LIKE the Life is in the Small Things Facebook page (if you have not already done so).
  2. LIKE Gymnademics’ Facebook Page
  3. Leave a comment here to let me know what your favourite fairy tale is! Please leave me your e-mail address too so I can contact you if you win.

Contest ends Friday, 26th April 2013, 11.59pm. Good luck!

GIVEAWAY RESULTS!

Congratulations to…

Winnie Lam, you are the winner of the family set of tickets to Gymnademics’ Big Day Out! I will be getting in touch shortly for your particulars.

Thanks to all who participated! I really enjoyed reading about your favourite fairytales! I don’t really have a favourite fairy tale, but if pressed, I think it would be The Ugly Duckling, that wonderful tale of transformation. Thanks so much for sharing!

Hey Winnie, thanks for joining! I think Tchaikovsky made Sleeping Beauty special me — I still start hearing the music in my head immediately when I think about Sleeping Beauty. I love the "once upon a dream" tune!

The classic princess story! My favourite version of this was a ladybird classic where Cinderella went to the ball three nights in a row, in three different dresses — a pink one, a blue one and a resplendent silver-and-gold one. Did you read that too? 🙂 Thanks for joining my giveaway!

Hi Debbie, thanks for joining! Must say I always found Little Red Riding Hood a bit troubling, esp the versions where he gobbled granny up!
