There are some mornings when I am happy to be off to work. This morning was one of those mornings. After caring for a whiny baby for 2-3 days, spending an inordinate amount of time and effort trying to get him to just EAT SOMETHING other than plain bread for much of the weekend and then being kicked repeatedly in the early morning while trying to nurse/coax him back to sleep (this boy just loves using me as a human bolster, I swear), I was not as reluctant as I usually am to be heading to the ... read more
Clingy Koala
Poor Noey has been down with a fever the past 2 days, as an after-effect of the pneumoccocal vax shot he had on Wednesday evening. As a result, he's been very clingy to me, crying at every slightest thing. On top of that, his already poor appetite which had shown some signs of improving after another of his teeth finally emerged (the bottom right lateral incisor) has nosedived, to this Mummy's despair. He ate half his usual breakfast, none of his lunch, and just a few spoonfuls for dinner on ... read more
Onboard Noah’s Ark!
Noey's birthday week culminated in his Noah's Ark Party on Saturday, and it was a total blast.I didn't start out wanting to have a theme party, but once I had decided on Noah's Ark, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a really popular party theme, which made researching for ideas and finding themed materials not too difficult. I've come to the conclusion that the way to enjoy the party planning process is to start early and not put pressure on oneself to execute all your ideas. Also, ... read more
Birthday Boy Hits Sentosa
DD and I took the day off on October 2 to spend Noey's birthday with him and decided to bring Noey to one of our favourite places to hang out way back in our pre-Noey days: Sentosa. The intention was two-fold -- one, to let him use his new tricycle, a birthday gift from his NaiNai and GuMa, and two, introduce him to the sand and the sea. First up, it was off to VivoCity to get him appropriate footware for the beach: Crocs! These shoes really should only be worn by kids. They look so cute in that ... read more
Oct Babies Turn One
Happy Birthday to our precious 4!Noey spent his first Children's Day aptly celebrating his birthday with 3 other special little people -- Bean, Kate and Raeann. We had started talking about this special little party way back when we realised that with our little bubs being born within 8 days of each other, with Bean and Noey in fact sharing the same birthday, they would hardly, if ever, be able to attend each other's parties. The idea for a joint party was mooted and readily agreed to. Since ... read more
Sophie Mophie Turns 2
It's been a while since I've posted about little Sophie. In the meantime, our little Goddaughter has grown from an adorable little baby with the big eyes into a lovely little girl, still with the big eyes.In this seemingly short span of time, Sophie has turned 2. She continues to be as sweet as she looks, and is a most girly girl, much to her mother's amusement, since she herself had never been the girly sort. Sophie likes to ask to wear a "pretty dress" and would tell her father to arrange her ... read more
It’s Been Quite a Week
It has been an incredibly busy week for us. Starting with a family wedding last Saturday, our week also included Sophie's birthday party on Sunday, a wedding dinner on Tuesday, the October Babies birthday celebration on Thursday, Noey's actual birthday (and a trip to Sentosa) on Friday, his birthday party on Saturday and a luncheon by my Aunt's church this afternoon. And in between during the week, we were busied ourselves preparing for the celebrations for Noey's birthday. Whew! The highlight of ... read more
A Year Ago, Our Lives Changed Forever
On this night exactly one year ago, I found myself unable to sleep. The then-heavily-pregnant me tossed and turned and ended up going going outside to camp on the couch beside DD who was, at that time, engrossed in some Champions League match. I can't remember who Liverpool was playing that night but I remember that they won. (I just checked -- it was PSV). I ended up sleeping very little that night, and it felt like no sooner had I gone to sleep, I was roused at around 7am by a "click" ... read more
A Sign of Things to Come
Noey's drinking cup had been missing the whole day. My helper was convinced that I had left it behind at Sophie's party yesterday while I was equally sure that I brought it home and left it on my bedside table. Unfortunately, neither my helper nor I managed to uncover the cup and were terribly puzzled after a period of futile searching.A quick check with DD when he came home revealed that I was correct in my recollection but still, no cup.DD joined in the search and a short moment later, he ... read more
