My little Ah Beng making himself comfortable.Noey hasn't discovered the magic of the coin rides yet and I plan to keep it that way as long as I can! Still, these do come in mighty handy when I need a break from carrying him and need him to be entertained for more than a couple of minutes. Can't believe the rides cost $1 now! Didn't it use to be 20 cents way back when we were tots?Baby you can drive my carYes I’m gonna be a starBaby you can drive my carAnd baby I love youBeep beep’m beep beep ... read more
Noah’s Ark for Noah
Noey's Godma is back from the UK for a surprise visit and brought back the CUTEST present for Noey! Noah's Ark for NoahTotally makes me want to go check out Hamleys. It's an early birthday present, but 'tis rather timely since it fits right into the theme of his party. That's right, we're having a Noah's Ark party for Noah! Probably the first of many he'll have throughout his life. I had to, right? If only so that he can "go as himself", as I merrily told DD. Yes, I was totally going to do just a ... read more
First Steps
Noey took his first steps about 2 weeks ago on 6 August while we were on a playdate with Fans and YK. I thought the tod and baby might enjoy having some space to run about so I suggested Scrumptious, and the kids had a whale of a time messing around. Stairs! Noey's fav terrain to conquer. "Look at me Mummy! I'm going to come down one way or another!" "Wheeee! In the midst of playing, Noey spotted -- of all things -- a bicycle wheel on the next table. For some reason he reeaaaally wanted it ... read more
Oh, How They Grow
Debra's Little Man, SeanWent with some of the girls to visit Debra and little man Sean on Monday, and all us Mummies proceeded to go all googoo-gaga over the new bub. He was so cute and perfect in his little newborn-ness. Totally makes one crave a small baby!We had a good time listening to and commiserating with Debra over her whole birth experience. Listening to her brought back so many memories, but it's true, you tend to conveniently forget the painful bits with the passing of time.I went ... read more
It’s a Zoo Out There
Daryl took the day off on his birthday and since it was his special day and all, I let him decide what he wanted to do with the promise that I would go along with it with nary a complaint. Very predicatably he opted for the zoo, so to the zoo we went.Trying to get Noey to wear his hat...... and yup, failing miserablyThose of you who think that the zoo is for Noey, you're wrong. The zoo is like one of DD's favourite outdoor destinations. Even pre-Noey he kept bugging me to go to the zoo. Now with ... read more
In Perfect Symmetry
How often does one's husband's favourite band come into town for a one-night-only concert on his birthday? When I heard from my brother that Keane was coming to play on 13 August, I knew it would make the perfect birthday present for my fan of a husband.I'd originally wanted to surprise him, but given that the 13th was a Thursday, I was highly doubtful that I was going to be able to make him get off work in time for the gig without some incentive. Already he professed dismay when I told him I was ... read more
Fidgeting About
The October babies came out to play at Fidgets a couple of weeks back. Our "twins", Bean and Noey, who same the same birthdayThe only shot where they're both looking at the camera and I focus on the girl's butt behind. Great job, Mum.Group shot with Little Miss Kate. This time we Mummies got smarter and took the group shots at the start of the playdate when everyone was cooperative and not at the end.Noey got to play with some laces -- "Ooo, string!"And also chug around in a cool ride. Noey got ... read more
The Long Weekend That Wasn’t
It was the first long weekend in quite a while, but alas, with Noey falling sick on Thursday night, all plans had to be shelved and we instead spent a quiet few days at home.Noey's continued to have a fever through most of Friday, but by Friday night it broke. When I woke up on Saturday morning to find him rummaging through the drawers next to our bed, I knew he was on the mend. He was more wobbly than usual on Saturday, but by Sunday, except for a runny nose, he was virtually right as rain and ... read more
Perfect 10
10 months old on 2 Aug 2009 So the letter this month is late as usual. Sorry little man. I sure hope you don't inherit your Mother's tardy genes. Then again your Father ain't much better so you might be on your own there. These days it's so much fun just being with you, writing has taken a backseat. You're changing so quickly that it really does feel like each time I come back from a day away from you, you've learnt something new. The first year brings tremendous changes and it's all too ... read more
Shoo, Flu Bug, Shoo!
Poor Noey is sick, down with the dreaded flu. He was having a runny nose all day yesterday and started burning up last night. At the doctor's this morning, his temperature was 39C.Of all the milestones I hope to see him achieve, this is one that I was hoping to delay for as long as possible. This is the first time he is down with any kind of sickness in 10 months (not counting an earlier allergy flare-up) and I guess I should be grateful for that. But it is hard, seeing him all out of sorts and ... read more
