It being the school holidays, that means there’s more time for play! We’re just catching our breath after coming back from Gold Coast, but once we do, I anticipate that we will be spending more time out in the sun. And if the weather holds out, more time in the pool.
Big splash! Getting thrown is one of the highlights of class for the kids!
I guess there’s just something about being in the water that just screams HOLIDAY! I know my two are looking forward to more pool time, especially my little miss who has become even more of a water baby since starting swimming lessons with The Swimming Room. Just a couple of weeks ago, the back floats came off and she managed a dog paddle across the water with her head up. Proud mummy me managed to catch it on video:
Since then, her confidence has grown tremendously. Almost too much in fact as I now have to watch her closely in case she ventures into deep water thinking that she can swim! She’s not quite there yet, but I’m sure she will be very soon.
What I’m most grateful for is not just the progress that my kids are making in the pool, but the fact that they enjoy their swimming lessons. And they are not the only ones! I asked some of the children who are taking lessons with Eugene from The Swimming Room whether they liked their lessons and got a resounding yes. When asked why, here’s what the children had to say:
“Swimming lessons with Coach Eugene are so fun!”~ Joshua T, 3 years.
“I like bouncing up and down like a jelly bean. I like Uncle Eugene because he teaches me how to swim. I keep my legs straight and I point my toes. I also know how to blow a balloon before I put my face in the water. ~ Naomi, 4 years
“I like swimming because I like going underwater to wave to my friends. I also like Uncle Eugene to catch me when I jump in the water.” ~ A, 5 years.
“I like Uncle Eugene because we get to pick up sticks from the bottom of the pool. Swimming with Uncle Eugene makes me feel happy. I can do bend, kick, close.” ~ Zoe, 5 years
“I like Coach Eugene because he teaches me to swim the proper way.” ~ Jared T, 6 years
“I like Uncle Eugene because as he makes sure I pay attention and I learn my strokes properly. Swimming is fun.” ~ Sophie, 7 years
“I like Coach Eugene because he makes the swimming lessons interesting for us. ~ Jessica T, 9 years.
