Noey wanted to push the stroller and because it was just impossible carrying him while he squirmed himself downwards to hold onto the stroller bar, DD decided to rotate the handle bar to the lowest setting and let him at it. And whaddya know, our litte pack horse managed to push the stroller, loaded with bags, for quite a distance. He made it from around Casa Verde all the way up the slope and some way along the road before we stopped him. I'm not good with distances but I'll say it was about ... read more
Finally, The Cinema
Determined not to let the year be a complete wash-out at the movies, on the eve of New Year's Eve, DD and I forced out some time and went to catch Avatar 3D.First movie caught in the cinema in 2009 on 30 Dec!Yes, it was our first movie date at the cinema since Noey. And yes, we had to take leave to finally be able to find the time to commit 3 hours to watching a film. It's all very loser-ly on our part, but at least we can say, in the end, we finally made it. It helped that we really enjoyed the ... read more
Goodbye 2009
It being the eve of a new year, I guess is appropriate to look back at the year past even as we look forward to the year ahead of us. 2009 was a very different kind of year for me, chiefly because it was my first full year as a Mummy. The year has been for me, for us, and probably for our families, all about Noey. It is truly amazing how he has swept in our lives and just taken them over! And in return he's given us many trying moments and a few scares, but also much plenty of laughter and much ... read more
Family Feasting Fun
We had our annual family Christmas dinner on the 26th this year. This is another staple on the family Christmas calendar. It's always good to catch up with the whole family over a table full of food. This year, Noey was able to join us at the dinner table though his Christmas dinner was of a rather different variety. No roast beef, or ham, or turkey for Noey just yet!In recent years, I've tried to relieve some of my Mum's burden by contributing some dishes for dinner. I learnt my lesson from last ... read more
On the 1st Day of Christmas…
The Christmas morning madness at my parents' place is a family tradition. My siblings and I used to rush out on Christmas morning (just about the only time we'd wake up early on our own accord) and rip open all the gifts waiting patiently under the tree. Ever since I moved out after marriage, I've always carted our presents over on Christmas morning for the exchange and opening. And now with Noey in tow, it really does get a little crazy. Especially cos he's got so many gifts! Noey isn't quite ... read more
Is it Monday Already?
Emerging from the long Christmas weekend satiated and happy. It was a weekend of meet-ups and feasting for us with friends and family, and truth be told, it was exactly the kind of Christmas I love. (And the kind that is tolerated by DD, who would, conversely, be more than happy holed up at home.)Last year's Christmas was a quiet one. With our still-rather-new baby in tow and my best friends out of the country, we didn't have much planned and instead dropped by a couple of parties at the request ... read more
Christmas Greetings
Amidst the feasting and festivities, don't forget that He is the reason for the season. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.~ Isaiah 9:6May you find Christ in your Christmas this season. Blessed Christmas One and All! ... read more
Zoe!
Everyone meet Zoe!An early Christmas present for Josh, Mich and Sophie (she was actually due on Christmas Day!) and we all couldn't be more excited. "I have a new baby!", Sophie proudly declared when we popped by for a visit. And brand new she was indeed."What is that clicking sound??"Zoe meets Uncle DD (and his camera) for the first time. Yes, showing an amazing sense of awareness for a newborn, she turned to look at the camera, following the clicking.Of course I had to ask to carry her and was ... read more
HK Day 2: Shopping
I have to preface this post with the comment that this trip of ours to Hong Kong was very different from our usual trips, which usually comprise a whole lot of eating and shopping, and quite a bit of sightseeing. This time round, we decided to give visiting the usual touristy haunts a miss and didn't get to eat as much of the great Hong Kong food as we would have liked. The latter not entirely by choice. Still, we managed to squeeze some shopping in despite Noey's best efforts to thwart us in ... read more
Noey x 4
I love the evening light. That golden light positively makes everything it falls upon radiate with life. And when it surrounds my little rambuctious boy, my little ball of energy, he positively glows. DD decided to try to keep up his fitness regime (or make some attempt at it at least) so Noey and I accompanied him to the track nearby in the weekend and had a grand ol' time trying to chase Papa around, trying to spot buses zooming by on the adjacent road across the fence and trying to pull out ... read more
